"The advice that I would give to women interested in working in commerce or tech is to take up space. Have a mindset that you belong in the rooms that you find yourself in, and always raise your hand for opportunities that excite you. Donāt wait until you feel 100% qualified or ready, because you may never. Take the chance and trust yourself."
A reminder that growth often starts by stepping forward before you feel ready.

Women Behind the Work | Fatima Haidar
As part of our Women Behind the Work series this Womenās History Month, weāre continuing to highlight the incredible women behind the scenes at geekspeak Commerce.
Today weāre featuring Fatima Haidar, E-Commerce Photographer.
When asked what people might not know about her role, Fatima shared:
"Most people see a clean product photo online and think itās as simple as clicking a button, but there is a whole world of āinvisibleā work behind it. Before I even pick up my camera, Iām cleaning, straightening, and meticulously positioning the product to find its best angle. Iām constantly adjusting the lighting to make sure every texture and detail is captured perfectly.
The magic continues in the edit, where Iām removing reflections, ensuring the background is crisp white, and fine-tuning colors so they match the product in real life. My goal is to build a bridge of trust. By making images clean, clear, and accurate, Iām giving customers the confidence to know exactly what theyāre getting and feel secure enough to hit that ābuyā button.ā
Behind every great product image is a thoughtful process that brings clarity, accuracy, and trust to the digital shelf.

When asked what advice she would give to women interested in working in commerce or tech, Amanda shared:
"For writers, I would tell them this industry is evolving quickly, particularly with the explosive growth of AI, but there is still so much value in the 'human' perspective. Your voice and experience add meaning and insight while ensuring copy maintains the warmth, integrity, and authenticity that readers and consumers respond to."
At a time when technology is transforming the way we create and communicate, the human perspective remains essential.
