Not my usual crochet/knit work but a handmade project for the home.
My old cushion covers were starting to look…well, old…so I thought they could do with some refreshing. Found this fabric and hand sewed two cushion covers. Then made the tassels for some embellishments. They are reversible but I have yet to take a picture of the other side which does not include the envelope fold and showcases the fabric texture in full. I will share a picture soon.

Doilies loading…

Just finding ways to display and use the doilies I’ve been working up lately. The last time I went through a doily phase was 2017/2018! They may be old fashioned and Grandma era, but I love them. 😍

A beautiful day to remind us that spring is near! Had to share these colourful coasters to share the vibes. 😊

One of several items ordered by a customer that was picked up two weeks ago. This one in particular is for a tea loving guy. 🫖
I guess I need one for myself now! AND I have more designs to use. 💁🏻♀️

Sharing some practice work. The yarn I used for these pot holders/trivets varied in thickness which caused the sizes to differ despite the same stitch and row counts.
For my next attempt, I will also try to work on making the edging neater.

Using my mum’s 35+yr old yarn to make these vintage style doilies. There are so many ideas on how to repurpose old and vintage doilies on the internet and by designers! While I do love some of the ideas, as a crocheter who fully understands and appreciates the handiwork behind each of these pieces, I feel I like it the old fashioned way. Another way is to use them as wall art or in picture frames. These beauties deserve to be displayed in all their glory!
Do you like doilies? How would you use them around the house?

Creating something new with something old. This ball of yarn is probably 35 years old if not more and is from my mum’s stash. She gave it to me along with some of her other craft items around four years ago. I recently found some doilies I had made when I first started crocheting. That discovery took me down a rabbit hole and I found myself itching to make more items I can use for my tablescape. If that interests you, stay tuned to see more pictures!

This order took some work to figure out. It may not be perfect but I’m proud of it for now. I’m itching to try making more of these from different Football clubs now. ⚽️ 😄
