Fairness isn’t always as simple as splitting things evenly. As children grow, they learn to balance belonging, loyalty, and justice ... and sometimes that gets complicated. This week’s Knowledge Drop explores how children weigh group loyalty against fairness, and why truly “fair” decisions sometimes mean giving more to those who need it most.

The MAP Lab thesis students successfully presented their proposal presentations, marking an exciting milestone in their research journey. We’re looking forward to seeing these projects grow and the insights they’ll bring to developmental science.

Hi everyone! This week’s Knowledge Drop explores why children help others, even when it’s hard. From sharing a favourite toy to comforting a friend, kids show that altruism begins in small, everyday moments. These acts lay the foundation for empathy, connection, and lifelong kindness.
