Kwai! (Hello)
Today at WES, we took time to recognize the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and to honour the Abenaki land on which our school stands.
Together, we talked about truth and reconciliation in a way that connected to our students’ everyday lives. Learning from the past and remembering the importance of making sure that everyone is treated with kindness, dignity, respect, and fairness. Regardless of the language you speak, the colour of your skin or any other differences you may have! Every child matters!
Students also had the opportunity to learn a few words in the Abenaki language before we gathered together for a school photo in front of the beautiful trees on our playground.
A meaningful moment of learning, reflection, and togetherness for our WESties that we will continue to honour for years to come. follow the Youtube link if you wish to discover a little more! 🧡

Kwai! (Bonjour)

🧡 Orange Shirt Day at WES 🧡
Today, our WESties will come together to recognize Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students will learn about the importance of listening, remembering, and showing respect for Indigenous Peoples, their histories, cultures, and continued presence in our communities.
Students will also reflect on our relationship with the land and on ways we can show kindness, respect, and care for one another and for the world around us. Every Child Matters. 🧡
Chaque enfant compte. 🧡

💙🏃♀️ **WES Terry Fox Run!** 🏃♂️💙
Yesterday, we came together at WES to celebrate our Terry Fox Run!
Our students ran or walked at their own pace, showing their support and helping raise awareness for Terry’s incredible legacy and the fight against cancer.
And there was a little extra fun along the way… Every lap completed earned students a new colour to wear! The more laps they did, the more colourful they became!
A huge thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for helping us bring colour to the run and keep Terry’s dream alive!
