Vt is getting ready to renovate! As some of you already know, Memorial Hall is undergoing renovations and this means we are packing everything up and putting it into storage.

We could really use some helping hands on this upcoming Saturday, July 19th to help our costume ladies move their already packed boxes into a storage unit.

Please contact by commenting on this post, if you are available Saturday. Maybe some students out there wish to earn some volunteer hours?

Call for Directors and Producers
Village Theatre, Waterdown, 2013-2014

A killer season! Village Theatre is pleased to accept proposals to direct or produce this season’s fall, winter and spring shows:

Murder by the Book by Mat Kelly

What happens when an all-women’s mystery writer’s club gets together? Murder, a little mayhem and comedy, that’s what!
Art and life collide for Detectives Jane and Tom as they investigate a murder at a Victorian Mansion where a small group of female mystery writers are having their club meeting. But one of them is found murdered! Did one of the writer’s try to kill the competition?
Cleverly written by Mat Kelly from Kitchener Ontario, the audience will be laughing as they also try to solve the mysterious murder.

Cast: 5 females, 1 male.
Set: The study of an old Victorian Mansion. Present Day.
Performance Dates: Nov 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 29, 30.

The Uninvited by Tim Kelly

A brother and sister move into a haunted country house and meet the village doctor, the local gossip, a former governess, strange stories, a mysterious woman, the sound of someone weeping and a murder that may or may not have happened 15 years before! Dark secrets are forced to reveal themselves. A classic ghost story in three acts, based on the 1942 book by Dorothy Macardle.

Cast: 6 females, 4 males.
Set: The sitting room of an isolated house in the west of England. 1942.
Performance Dates: Feb 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23, 28, Mar 1.

Snow White by Michael Straczynski

This is the traditional story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs- with a twist! In this hilarious version, the mirror is inhabited by a Spirit who acts as the Narrator of the story. There is a bumbling Prince who is trying to spy for his father, the King of a nearby kingdom. The deliciously wicked Queen mistakes him for a Huntsman, and orders him to take lovely Snow White to the forest to kill her. There she meets the Seven Dwarfs who are struggling to make a living, not realizing that the Queen has cast a spell on their mine so they cannot find any more gold. But don’t worry: it all ends “happily ever after”!

Cast: 3 to 6 females, 1 male, possible attendants, 7 adults or children as dwarves.
Set: The castle, the forest, dwarves’ cottage and the mine.
Performance Dates: April 25, 26, 27, May 2, 3, 4, 9, 10.

Deadline for Proposals to Direct: May 31th.

By “proposal” we suggest a one page synopsis of what your “vision” for the play is, including cast size, set/costume ideas, style, etc. A resume is also strongly suggested.

To submit proposals, get copies of the script, or for more information about directing or producing these plays, please contact:
