A year ago, today, I was getting ready to make a barrel run at a jackpot as a way to relax before the hectic week of stampede started. As I was putting Doubles’ boots on I noticed some odd behaviour, then a reluctancy to walk around, followed very quickly by BUCKETS of sweat pouring off of her. Thankfully I was surrounded by ladies who had seen this before and we were able to identify and treat her for tying-up within minutes of the onset. She spent 2 nights in the ER getting IV fluids, and sadly I had to sit her out of rodeo week. Then came the absolute mad scramble to find a horse to use!
By the time the rodeo started I had had over 20 horses offered to me! Rodeo truly is a special industry where everyone comes together to help someone out when they need it. I’ve never been moved to tears as easily as I was over how willing people were to lend me their animals! By the end of rodeo week I’d swung my leg over 4 different horses for the performances, all of which I had never ridden before! A very big thank you to everyone who lent me a horse 🫶🏽.
Committee person of the year - Brent Horn lent me his good horse, Shooter, Friday and Sunday! Camille Anderson lent me on of her daughter’s trick riding horses, Trigger, for the parade and Saturday afternoon performance. Tyler Thompson lent me Billy for our chuckwagon grand entry on Saturday evening. And Courtney Smith brought me her barrel horse, Mike, for Saturday’s under the lights performance! I can’t thank you all enough for lending me your partners, I’m truly honoured to have had the chance!
This year I’m excited to be riding my Dad’s horse, Buster, in the performances . And of course my queen, Doubles, will be heading up the parade! Can’t wait to see you all there!

Another wonderful supporter of mine this year has been Ropin and Ranch Supply! Rebecca and Mark are wonderful supporters of the community, and truly run a fantastic business. Whether you’re heading in for supplements, feed, tack, work clothes or going-out fashions they carry almost everything one could need!
Not only did Rebecca sponsor some wonderful pieces to help me shine at the Miss Rodeo Canada competition last fall, but she also donated a gorgeous Ariat backpack for our auction basket. With the goal to send 2 people to Las Vegas for the NFR, a personal item with plenty of storage but was going to stand the test of time was definitely a must have in there! I’m so thankful for their support, and words of encouragement on my pursuit. Small businesses really are the heart of the community!
As we head into stampede week make sure you stop in for all your rodeo needs! A little birdie told me they have extended hours this week and are even open on Sunday.

Did you know that 3 out of the 9 Canadians who qualified for the National Finals Rodeo in 2025 were local to Wainwright? It’s truly cowboy country out here!
We were asked to create a basket to showcase our rodeo and community to be auctioned off at the Ladies Of Canadian Professional Rodeo Fashion Show while competing for MRC 2026. My goal was to send some lucky winners to the NFR to watch our locals compete as they made up 1/3 of the Canadian competitors, and thanks to the help of Purechem Services our basket featured 2 tickets to performances 8 and 9 in Las Vegas! Their generosity not only supported my campaign, but the proceeds from the basket went towards the Justin Sports Medicine team and the Cowboy Benevolent Fund, helping all rodeo athletes. They also helped achieve my Ad Sales Category win, take a peak at the beautiful ad we submitted!
Thank you so much Purechem for your support! Not only for the tickets, but for the words of encouragement and believing in me! You played a big role in me having the courage to toss my hat in the ring in the first place. I couldn’t do it without great people like you.

I’m fortunate to work with a lot of terrific companies in my day-to-day work, and many were excited to help me when I approached them for Ad Sales during the Miss Rodeo Canada competition. It’s thanks to all of these wonderful supporters that I won the Ad Sales Category.
There were a few that offered extra help, and thanks to the generosity of Denmax Energy I was able to purchase a much needed piece, my beautiful black Smithbilt! For those that know me, you know I’ve got a very little head. Almost all my hats have had to be custom built, as premade 6-1/2 hats are rare to find! Denmax afforded me the chance to own one of the nicest hats I’ve ever laid hands on, and has remained a staple in my closet since I got it. I can’t thank them enough for their generosity in supporting me!

A huge thank you to Prairie Vision Wainwright for sponsoring me with a new pair of glasses for my year as Miss Rodeo Wainwright.
Vision care is such an important part of our overall health, and something that can sometimes get overlooked. Regular eye exams can play a much bigger role than people realize! I’m incredibly grateful to the doctors at Prairie Vision for always listening to my concerns about my vision health and digging deeper when things don’t feel right.
Over the years, my glasses have become a big part of who I am. I’ve found it important to wear them proudly, especially in the rodeo world where you don’t often see rodeo athletes or queens wearing glasses publicly. I’ve always wanted young girls to see that you too can wear your glasses while competing, and still feel confident and beautiful doing it. If a young girl sees me and feels a little more comfortable or confident wearing hers because of it, then that means the world to me.
Thank you again to the team at Prairie Vision for not only their support this year, but for the care they’ve shown me over the years as well. 👓🤓
Don’t forget to get your eyes looked at!
