Welcome to Craigdarroch Castle. Designated as one of Canada's National Historic Sites, this Victoria Huntington, Leland Stanford, and Charles Crocker. Williams.

Craigdarroch Castle is an example of a "bonanza castle", massive houses built for men who became wealthy because of the industrial transformation of North America. Three of Dunsmuir's American business associates were railroad entrepreneurs who had built their own bonanza castles: Collis P. Dunsmuir's American connections are reflected in the Castle itself. He commissioned architect Warren Heywood

With Canada making its debut in the FIFA 2026 World Cup⚽, we thought we would join the festivities and highlight the football (or soccer) players of Victoria College. The College even had a goat as a team mascot!🐐

Something new is coming to the Castle this Summer! ☀

We have joined forces with Fender Bender to host Market On The Green at Craigdarroch Castle! Spots are now open to local vendors, and applications can be submitted here: https://bit.ly/MOTGApp

Market On The Green takes place on the Castle's lawn on August 15th, 2026, from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.

Happy June! Here is what's happening at the Castle this month:

Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival is back on the South lawn with their production of A Midsummer Night's Dream! Shows start on June 22 and run through July 25. Tickets can be purchased through the Greater Victoria Shakespeare Festival's website.

Coming Soon: two new specialty walking tours that explore stonework in Rockland and Downtown Victoria!

The Rockland Garden Wall tour looks at the construction and conservation of different types of stone walls within the Rockland neighbourhood.

The Downtown Victoria Stone Building Conservation tour explores the different techniques used in construction and conservation with the historic stone buildings throughout the downtown core.

Both tours are led by our Conservation and Facilities Manager. More information will be released this month!

The Castle is open for Self-guided tours Wednesday through Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm.

Paper Street Theatre Co. is back at the Castle with a new show! Upstairs Downstairs is an Improvised British drama in a real-life Castle.

Step inside the world of aristocrats, servants, secrets, and social scandal as Craigdarroch Castle becomes the setting for a fully improvised period drama inspired by Downton Abbey. When tradition clashes with change, our household on the brink must navigate love, loyalty, ambition, and class– with no script!
