Pictured here is viburnum, a shrub known for blooming in late winter to early spring, often on bare branches. They appear in dense clusters and emit a sweet fragrance, turning pink to deep purple in the spring, then green in the summer, and burgundy in the fall.

Ms. Ng's Class, from Campus View Elementary, coming in with an UNPRECEDENTED 41,674,200,303 blooms counted! ๐
Each student from Ms. Ng's class will be admitted a free trip to in style: escorted by .A._Limousines! Colour us green with envy. A big congratulations to these students! ๐๐ฑ
We'd like to thank all the hard-working classrooms from the participating schools of Districts 61, 62 and 63 who helped make Flower Count a success. What an exciting blossom battle - we could hardly predict the outcome! ๐ Much of District of Saanich's success this year is thanks to their enthusiastic schools and students who were hard at work counting neighbourhood blooms!
The 51st Annual Flower Count resulted in a grand total of 86,268,791,360 blossoms counted by hard-working flower lovers, with submissions spanning across 14 municipalities in Greater Victoria ๐บโฃ

We did a on Sunday, of our gardens that surround the and , and came up with 294!
Then we used the official guide for our bush and got 1294!

Can you bee-lieve over 17 billion blooms have been counted already?! ๐ And there are still two days of Flower Count left until CHEK News announces the final tally!
Going petal-to-petal are Esquimalt, who has crawled up to the top of the leaderboard at incredible speed! City of Victoria - Local Government sits in second place with only a small change from yesterday, and Saanich (Saanich Peninsula Chamber of Commerce) sits pretty at third.

The Hanging Basket Donation Program provides a voluntary way for residents, businesses and organizations to help maintain this longstanding tradition and brighten our downtown streets. Donations can be made at the Destination Greater Victoria Visitor Centre (812 Wharf Street), online through victoria.ca, or in-person at City Hall (1 Centennial Square).
