Some pictures from May, the longest month of the year.
The greenhouse is my happy place. Every spring I spend hours in there starting seeds, tending babies and planning the varieties for the season.
On May 9th I get to share some of these special plants with you!
Come join myself and other wonderful farmers at the Compost Education Centre Sale in Fernwood and take home some specialty cut flowers for your own garden.
I’ll have a selection of flowers that I grow especially for their vase life, long stems, ability to dry beautifully for winter projects and even some for dyeing projects.
I’ll also have some Mother’s Day bouquets, potted perennials and sprouted dahlias!
Hope to see you there! 💕🌱💐

It’s almost dahlia planting time!
These queens of the late summer garden are cut-and-come-again beauties that come in a huge range of colours.
I’ve got the shop loaded with tubers for planting in your own garden this season, along with some specialty flowers seeds and some 1 gallon pots of Figwort, a perennial absolutely loved by pollinators here on the farm.

A classically beautiful combo of whites with pops of blue supported by lush foliage for the sweetest J & R’s wedding in August. The magical blue Tweedia we gushed about in December planning mode bloomed just in time for their day and added the finishing sparkle to arrangements. ✨💙 ✨Ceremony arrangements moved seamlessly to reception florals and complemented the soft blues of table settings.

What an absolute treat it was to make floral magic for these beautiful humans on their wedding day in late May. Lush peonies, ranunculus and foxgloves in bright pastels and an airy aisle installation in the rolling fields on Salt Spring Island. It was a beautiful and memorable day, and an honour to be a part of.

M & G were such a dream to work with for their wedding last July! They embraced all the colour of summer florals and the monochromatic bridesmaids bouquets each drew a colour and flower from the bridal bouquet. Paired with an adorable pocket boutonnière for the groom and farm grown bulk buckets that they arranged themselves in disco ball vases, it all turned out so beautifully!

I hate to break it to you, but thanksgiving is a week away. Now’s the time to find your local farmer for delicious squash, call your friends to join your table and create some talking points so you don’t have to have the same conversation with THAT relative again.
All this to say, we’ve made it easy to have the most aesthetically pleasing table next weekend! Pumpkin arrangements are back!
The last of the season’s flowers, thoughtfully arranged in a farm grown ‘blaze’ or ‘snowball’ pumpkin. Perfect for your own table or as a host gift!
