When the rain came we took the shadow theatre inside and the night ended our day with performances, and in traditional wordplay fashion, a dance party!

Thank you to our performers Alina, our talented hindi singer, and Farhat our wonderful 11 year old a capella performer and newly minted concert lighting designer!

Thanks to Parkway Forest Community Center, and our amazing volunteers and fellow artists Jubair Pk, Jason Boissonneault, Claire McMillan, Rob Vanderveer,Navid Amini, Nick Brownlee, Janice Yang, Adam Paolozza, Kari Pederson, Ximena Huizi, Brian Passmore, Rotem Yaniv- thank you Toronto Arts Foundation and thank you Arts in the Parks!

THANK YOU to this amazing community for their generosity, their bravery, and for always playing along with us. Thanks to all of you for a magical summer

Rain or shine WORDPLAY will be making art in the park and in the Parkway Forest Community Center- Come in from the rain and spend your afternoon celebrating with us!

Or come out, grab some rainwear and listen to some acapella under the Wordplay tent while the tropical-style rain falls all around us!

We have an awesome Toronto graffiti artist joining us this Saturday! Rob Vanderveer is a master at street art and he'll be doing some live painting with our audience this Saturday afternoon. Here is some of Rob's gorgeous work in progress.

WordPlay – Gallery in the Park September 10th 3:00pm-9:00pm

Everything that's been made over the summer will be brought back to the park for a culminating celebration! There will be snack and food later in the evening, musical performances, the unveiling of our Cloud Sculpture and Shadow Monster Movies as well as finishing off our community sculpture.

Come help make, dance up a storm and show us your best shadow monster!

Wordplay's tent to the past complete with an environmental sound installation from our previous event in the park on the 9th-
Alongside an invitation to construct the future with the citizens of parkway forest!

Some glimpses of two wonderful days in Parkway Forest Park that included performances in Italian, Spanish, English, Arabic and Mandarin; a ton of painting, sculpting and dancing!

So on July 9th at 7pm, WordPlay is hosting a Soiree in Parkway Forest Park!

Come one! Come all!

There will be complimentary tea and desserts and all we're hoping is that you bring your favourite music to share with us. We'll have some old school tape and cd players on hand.

This is the first phase of WordPlay's major July project so come join us and help make some art and share some old memories and make some new ones.

We also have a special guest artist and Montreal musician working with us for the 9th ! Those details will be revealed shortly. In the meantime, save the date!
