typically I post my carousels in portrait mode but the landscape shots help present the scale of the living room / kitchen area— hope you enjoy the recent captures!

“are you the loftiest because you’re brick? or are you brick because you’re the loftiest?”

any JJK fans? this is a little outside my usual content but the audio was too good to pass up. Also, this is Toronto, not NYC for everyone’s reference.

sometimes lighting is for atmosphere, not brightness.

living in a hard loft without overhead lighting forced me to think more intentionally about how a space feels at different times of the day. over time, I ended up leaning heavily into layered and diffused lighting, instead of relying on brightness alone.
most of the lamps in here are less about functionality and more about creating atmosphere, especially during the daytime when natural light is already enough. smart bulbs also made a huge difference for me, being able to adjust warmth and intensity completely changes the mood of the space depending on the hour.
i’m also pretty sensitive to harsh lighting, so softer indirect light has always felt more comfortable and calming to live with. I hope you enjoyed my curated space — YBL
