Welcome to Toronto Dance Salsa, Canada's largest salsa dance school with over 5000 students every year! We specialize in turning absolute "Two-left feet" beginners into seasoned Salseros/Salseras so get ready to get fit, meet new friends and have a blast learning Salsa with our fun salsa lessons! With Cuban and Puerto Rican roots salsa evolved in New York in the 1960s and has grown into one of the most popular forms of social dancing today. Any evening of the week you will find thousands of Torontonians attending salsa lessons and dancing the night away in one of the many amazing salsa venues in the Greater Toronto Area. Whatever your skill and fitness level, whether you are bringing a partner or signing up individually, our Toronto salsa lessons are for you. Our salsa instructors live and love salsa and have a true passion for sharing this love with their students. Our lessons are all about easy to understand and execute instruction in a fun, comfortable and social environment. We put special emphasis in ensuring our male/female ratios are even so you get the most out of your class learning time and we have a large group of over 75 Assistant Instructors and Toronto Dance Salsa Volunteers who take the time to ensure you reach your full potential. In addition to the effective quality instruction you will receive during your lessons with us, you will gain invaluable dance experience and have a blast meeting hundreds of Toronto Dance Salsa students at our outings. We hold outings bi-weekly at salsa clubs around Toronto such as Acrobat Lounge, Peridot Lounge, Plaza Flamingo, El Rancho and Babalu'u. Our attendance ranges from 150-300 students per outing which provides everyone an opportunity to meet and dance with students from other classes in a variety of levels and skill-sets. Here’s her story:
“I started dancing Salsa because I’ve always had a love and passion for dance, whether it was at special occasions or simply dancing by myself at home.
Dancing is when I feel happiest, the most free, and the most like myself.
Since joining Toronto Dance Salsa, I feel like I’ve discovered a part of myself that had been waiting to come out for a long time.
I had imagined myself dancing like this for years, and finally getting to live it now feels incredibly special.
It feels like I found something I was always meant to do.”

A place where you can walk in as a complete beginner, build confidence, meet people, express yourself, and maybe discover a part of you that’s been waiting to come out too. ❤️

You absolutely do not need dance shoes to start Salsa. ❤️
If you’re brand new, keep it simple.
Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and clean, comfortable shoes that feel stable on your feet. That’s enough.
You don’t need heels.
You don’t need fancy dance sneakers.
You don’t need to spend a bunch of money before you even know whether you love it.
Start with the classes first.
Then, after maybe 10 to 15 classes, once you’ve got a better feel for how you move and what feels comfortable, that’s a great time to start looking at proper dance shoes.
The goal isn’t to look like a dancer on day one.
The goal is to feel comfortable enough to keep showing up, learning, and having fun. ❤️
And if you eventually enter your Salsa heel era… maybe don’t start quite this high. 😂👠

If you told me years ago I’d have videos of myself dancing online, I would’ve laughed at you. 😂
I genuinely thought I couldn’t dance.
I thought some people just had rhythm and some people didn’t. I thought confidence on the dance floor was something you were born with.
Then I started learning.
One class became a few. A few moves became actual dancing. The nerves got quieter. The confidence got louder.
And eventually, something I once would’ve been embarrassed to even attempt became something I was proud enough to share.
That’s one of the things I love most about Salsa.
You don’t have to start confident.
You don’t have to start coordinated.
You don’t have to already “be a dancer.”
You just have to start.
Sometimes the person saying “I could never do that” becomes the person posting dance videos later. ❤️
It always starts so innocent.
One person takes a class.
Then they bring a friend.
Then a sibling gets curious.
Then somehow everybody’s talking about turns, timing, socials, and who’s coming dancing this weekend 😅
That’s the fun of Salsa. It doesn’t just teach you moves. It pulls people together.
Confidence grows.
Friendships grow.
And before you know it, dance becomes part of your life in the best way.
