Andrea England

I love books. I have a lot of my favorites, but only one sits on the coffee table in my writing room. It was a gift from my mother, echoing one of the first and most consequential gifts she ever gave me as a girl - a love for Dolly Parton’s songs. Like so many before me and since, “Coat of Many Colours” was only the first of many lessons I did not even know I was learning.

I know now that Dolly Parton showed me what a song should and could do.

Dolly, you will never know (yet, maybe you somehow did) how many of us songwriters - especially the female self-published ones you inspired to embrace both the creative and business sides of songwriting - you birthed by being so authentically you.

Thank you for your extraordinary songcraft.
Thank you for your love of books and for making them accessible to so many.
Thank you for your example.
Thank you for always leading with candor, laughter, faith in humanity, and above all, love.

Welcome to the !
