Dear friends,
You might be wondering where I’ve been. I had to take an extended medical leave to recover and replenish and rejuvenate. My daughter kept me company and the Adriatic gave me much needed life energy. I am back, stronger with every day!
I love you all, and look forward to catching up and seeing all your wonderful faces and creations. I have missed the energy of this beautiful community… truly!
With hopes that you had a wonderful summer, and blessings upon your autumn. ☀️🍂
Yours,
Dee 💓💫

A bit late with sharing, but better late than never as they say! 😅💓🙌 just check out this gorgeous version of the made up as part of our !! 😍🙌❤️🔥 I just love how much fun she is having wearing it 😄
She tells us: “Here’s the vintage sweater in all its glory. I will definitely do another vintage knit pattern after I get through some of my current WIPs. It’s been a dream of mine to do a sweater like this. As a first timer with a vintage pattern the best thing I did was join the knit along with ( )
I got so much help and it was the best way to get through it.”
I am SO happy you joined us, too, !! 💯agree - there is no better, or more fun!, way to knit vintage, especially for the first time—then with a group of amazing vintage knitting friends 😁🥰💓

I got a present last night! 🤠💓💫 Anyone else a Calamity Jane fan? And how much do you actually know about the real Calamity Jane?
Calamity Jane is part of my earliest memories, as early as my early toddlerhood… I am still trying to piece it all together, my first encounters with her image/character… as a kid growing up in former Yugoslavia, where Westerns were an immensely popular genre.
I actually mostly recall Calamity Jane as a serious character, in a serious role, in a black and while / sepia tone western I haven’t yet been able to trace… However, I do also remember watching this musical some years later, which of course, is fictionalized in the musical genre, for the sake of entertainment, starring the fabulous Doris Day.
Who were your early childhood heroes? 🤔💭💫 (Regardless of their gender expression!)
And now, to find out how well the movie has aged!… 😬🙈😅

Freshly scanned for your vintage knitting pleasure!! ☺️💓💫
Do you have a favourite?? 🤔💕
I am still very slow with getting through my scanning pile, but getting there, I promise! 😅
I always scan at a high resolution and do tons of cleaning up in Photoshop to get every pattern as clean and crisp as possible, for your reading and knitting pleasure ☺️. I’m going to start sharing some before and afters so you can see the difference! 🙂⚡️🙃

All sewn up and nowhere to go!! 😆🪡✨👌
So, I’m also going to photograph my daughter in it, since it is actually her size—on me, it is a bit too short and too tight, and I definitely made the neck hole a tad too small for adult human heads 😅😅😅…
I’m thinking I’m going to make another one in a lighter, silkier yarn, and add a panel of lace to at least the front, for extra comfort (but maybe both front and back?), and add a pattern or two of lace to the length (rn it comes just below my bellybutton!).
If you were to size it up, how would you do it? 🤔💭
This was such a satisfying and relatively quick knit, btw, I am looking forward to knitting another one up! If you would like to give it a try too, the pattern is available via link in bio. 💓

She tells us: “Things are moving fast with my spring cardigan, an original vintage pattern from the 50s. Along with 30 other vintage knitters, I share the joy of participating in the KAL by .
The cotton isn't perfect for intarsia knitting, but I think I can compensate for a loose stitch or two when sewing threads.
Your Birgit.”
