Are design constraints holding you back or helping you out? As a designer, I've learned to love them.

Last year, for better or worse, I locked in on my brand's bright pink color scheme and have been experimenting with different combos, textures, and shapes ever since. These constraints have pushed me to get creative and explore new ideas, sometimes pushing me out of my color combo comfort zone while still staying within the bounds of my brand. And it's been a blast! The beauty of design constraints is that they provide guidance and structure while leaving plenty of room for creativity.

So next time you feel stuck, try embracing your rules and see where they take you.

Tuesday morning office mates

After moving around a lot, I now call Canada home. As an outgoing introvert, I try to avoid paying attention to the imposter monster in my head and instead focus on the challenge ahead. Art is my jam, and I appreciate the masters but love new-age graphics. Frank Lloyd Wright was my idol as a kid, and he inspired me to combine nature in my work and life. Someday, I'll build tiny houses.

I have a degree in design that I acquired with hard work, sweat and tears. Since then, I have worked with both big and small brands, achieving impactful results together, challenging existing norms and even winning a few awards along the way. I have established a reputation for achieving results through my diverse skill set and accountability.

I married one of the good ones, and together we are raising a kick-ass daughter. We hope to show her how to claim her dreams by showing our support in whatever and with whomever that dream may be.

I hate photos of myself and feel like my spirit animal is Chandler Bing.
