This is Steel Oats Bob on WKJC , the subversive independent pirate radio station on the corner- and The prank potential is unlimited! We'll get 'em next time!

If there are any self-made multimillionaires out there, any wannabe Medici's out there that want to patron THESE arts and get this independent radio station off the ground, and are willing to spare $100,000, I will be the puppet on your strings. I'll pop up outside the competition with my battery powered Fender Passport mini and Gibson J50 rerelease semi-acoustic and start spouting sweet subverted

Diamond Kilmer, the company responsible for that #atrocity #birchleypark, near Victoria Park and Gerrard St E. We all really wanted you to decimate that beautiful #quarryland, where people went to ride their bikes and walk their dogs, and you sure did! Great marketing too, 'Parkland' being one of the selling point. Why keep the existing #parkland when you can destroy and replace it with your own? With a landscaping company and way too much money, anything is possible!

Special Thanks to @cityofto city councilors for making this all possible.

Here's hoping you're getting the irony you deserve, on WKJCRadio!

PRESS RELEASE:

It was quite amazing to see a thousand people in the street getting back to what's important in life and enjoying live music again at the Dundas West Street Festival. [Do West Fest]

Here, in front of the independently owned Full of beans Coffee House & Roastery we had:

* Jeff Jones (Tours with the likes of Burton Cummings, and got into the Cleveland R&R Hall of Fame for recording bass and BG vocals on Ocean's 'Put Your Hand In
The Hand')

*Gerry Finn (An ace in any genre, whether it's traditional maritime music from Newfoundland, playing for Helix, or being lead guitarist for the metal band The Killer Dwarves)

*The Low Fills (You could float on top of the amazingly thick sounds of this tremolo-filled country/surf/jazz/circus-folk hybrid. Love that Gretsch and triple-headed Fender lap steel! When in doubt, end your song as a waltz, folks)

Thanks to Lori at Full of Beans for letting me open for these amazing musicians.

This is Steel Oats Bob, signing off!

Gil Scott Heron - The Revolution Will Not Be Televised 05/26/2022

No here, folks, it'll be out in the .
If you're looking for where what is, it'll be out in the streets.
If you're interested in the direction the river is flowing, it'll be out in the streets
It's 100 for the same damn thing,
A man poking a stick at a hornets nest
Will hafta hide from the swarm

You'll dig the streets, though.
There'll be rock and roll out there
after all the venues are gone.
And abandoned shopping malls
make great roller-skating rinks
Then and at the end of a long day.
Waste not, want not.

We'll reinforce the sentiment.
When it feels right, it feels like family.

So when the time is right,
Put up a good fight
Slip back into night
and say saynoara, Sally!

Stompin' Tom Connors returning his Juno Awards (1978) 05/22/2022

A man who loved his country, folks. Stompin' Tom Connors embraced (and helped to shape) Canadian culture without being extremist. Are you ready to embrace a homogenized world culture dictated by Big Internet, mainstream news media outlets, and corporate interests? Or will you fight to preserve what was great about the past, and use that to create something entirely new?
The current of Canadian thought is entirely in your heads, so think it what you will!
