When we started out, we thought the main goal was just getting as many views as possible.

Spoiler: it backfired.

Those big view counts didn’t bring us any clients. But the worst part was that we ended up with an audience that didn’t care about storytelling, they just wanted quick, trendy content.

We were spending energy talking to people who weren’t aligned with the kind of work we actually wanted to do.

Everything changed when we stopped trying to play to the algorithm and just started sharing how we work and what we stand for.

The brands that work with us today don’t care if a video got 500k views. They come to us because they’ve been following along, they understand our vision, and they trust us with their story.

Attention is easy to get for three seconds. Trust is what actually builds something real.

“It’s not just cooking, it’s science. And very quick you learn that if you’re not passionate about it, you’re not going to excel.”

When we filmed the Brand Story video with chef Chef Tobénna | Private Chef | Toronto from Deliciae Hospitality Services, he shared a bit of his journey and this part stood out to us.

Even with some ordinary tasks like grilling tomatoes, we can always learn from it.

A lot of food brands try to lead with the mind.
They dump features, stats, and logical arguments upfront, hoping people will just decide to care.

But that’s not really how human beings work.

If you touch the heart first, the mind opens up naturally.
When you connect with someone on an emotional level, they stop tuning you out.
They become curious, they trust you, and they actually want to hear what you have to say and understand what you build.

That’s why story is so important. It’s not just about making a pretty visual or chasing a trend. It’s about building that initial bridge of human connection so the rest of your message actually lands.

Honestly, it always bugs us when we see brands treat video like a one-and-done checklist item. You spend time and money on it, post it once, and then it just disappears down the feed.

We’ve never wanted to build things that way.

For us, digging up these stories is the whole reason we show up to set. There is really nothing quite like that feeling when a brand’s true, human side finally clicks and you see people genuinely connect with it. That’s what keeps us going.

That’s exactly why we built the Brand Story Starter.

It’s not just a flashy piece of content you use for a quick campaign and discard. It’s a foundational asset. Marketing trends change every few months, but the core reason you started your business doesn’t.

Here is a quick look behind the curtain at how we map this specific framework out:

We find the message first: Long before the cameras even turn on.

We keep it conversational: We guide the chat so the real moments flow naturally.

We edit for connection: Creating a permanent doorway into your world.

If you’re tired of chasing temporary content and want to build something that actually stands the test of time, DM us “Story” we’d love to help.

People don’t just buy the product.

They buy what they already believe about the brand.

That’s why story matters.

It shapes how people see your value before they ever take a bite or a sip.

For premium food brands, that can be the difference between being compared on price and being understood.

There are a lot of bolognese sauces out there.

But Mangiare’s has something most people can’t copy.

Shannon’s dad. Mike.

Every other week, he comes into the restaurant to make it himself.

He’s been working in kitchens for over 50 years, and he talks about cooking like he still genuinely loves it.

That’s the story. Not just the sauce.

The person behind it.

The energy he brings into the kitchen.

That’s what makes this feel like Mangiare.

And that’s why stories like this matter for restaurants and food brands.

Because the thing that makes you different is often already there.

You just have to bring it to the center.

Premium food brands usually hide their best content.

They focus on showing the perfect final product.

And it looks good.

But that’s not always what makes people care.

Because most of these brands have something really special behind the product.

Why they started.
Who inspired them.
What they wanted to change.
What tough decisions they had to make.
What details they refused to compromise on.

But they treat that part like it’s not important.

When really, that’s the part that helps people understand why the brand is worth choosing.

The product matters.

But the story behind it is what gives people a reason to care.

Richie’s arc in The Bear works because the show gives us context.

At first, he’s easy to judge. Then we see him learn. We see what he cares about. We see the pride he starts to take in the work.

That’s when the way we see him changes.

And food brands can learn from that.

Because people don’t connect deeply with the polished version alone. They connect when they understand what sits behind it.

The standards. The choices. The people. The reason it exists.

That’s the story that makes people care.

The first mistake is to think that people need your brand to look flawless. And if your food brand only shows the polished version, people may miss what is behind it. The process, the care, and the reason why it exists.

That’s why we created a free guide to help food brands uncover 10 signs their content may not be building enough trust.

Comment “STORY” and we’ll send you the guide.
