Sharing Dance for Older Adults Fall 2023
A FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre co-presentation with Canada's National Ballet School and Baycrest Health Sciences
"If everything around seems dark, look again, you may be the light." Rumi
As the days grow darker, what practices keep the embers of your own light aglow?
What keeps you going?
For myself, movement and dance always ignites new sparks. I may not feel that way at the start of class, but the feeling grows and grows with a simple gesture, a glance from another dancer across the room, an invigorating breath in and releasing breath out or a playful mistake that makes me laugh at myself. Dark times call for serious (and sometimes NOT so serious) dancing.
