September spread for the .co journal 💜

Colouring in the tiny BT21 cuties was a challenge but a fun one! They’re so smol 🥺

It’s gonna be a busy week so I’m glad I made time to prep this spread! I can’t believe how full this journal is getting. I’ve never stuck with a journal until the end. 3.5 more months to go!

it be like that sometimes 🤷🏽‍♀️

sometimes you try something and it doesn’t work out! this was my second try at pottery. I doubt I’ll try it again and I’m okay with that 😌 I’ve got other interests and I have a newfound respect for the ceramic artists out there!

sharing the failures and messy middles of crafts because it’s allll part of the process!

starting to colour in next month’s spread 🖍️

had some fun with washi tape on this one, cutting out the designs. I was worried I’d cut through the paper! I like how it ended up looking. I picked out a lot of brighter colours for this one, excited to colour the next page! and think of what to put inside goals!

when your bracelets match your bag 🌻💅🏽

I always get a lot of compliments on my bag, and I used to just say “thanks” but I’ve been practicing changing that reply to “thanks I made it 🥰”

I know I can improve on a lot of things (yarn is getting fuzzy bc it’s low quality acrylic, straps are too thin/long, it would work better with a fabric inside cover)

BUT I am also really proud of this make!!! it’s fricking cute and look it matches with my bracelet 🤩🤩🤩

I ran out of yarn for this project 🥸 v sad about it, I just have to get off my butt and go get more. but also I have until August to finish soooo there’s no hurry right? 😅

(this is how a WIP project pile grows…)

dipping my toes into the world of beads 🙈

followed a video tutorial for the daisies, then lots of trial and error for the sunflowers. so proud of these! and as you can see, they are cat approved 🐱🐈‍⬛👍🏽

my sister helped with a lot of my initial questions + sourcing materials, which was sooo helpful. I really didn’t plan to get into this hobby… it just looked so fun… and dainty 🥺

it’s been cool to make these flowers with both yarn, macrame cord, and finally beads. different vibes, different challenges!

dipping my toes into the world of beads 🙈

followed a video tutorial for the daisies, then kinda winged it for the sunflowers through trial and error. my sister helped a lot for the first one! it’s always nice to have someone show you the ropes.

such delicate work, but I’ve been enjoying it! it’s been cool to see the differences of making daisy flowers with yarn and with beads 🌼 different vibes, different challenge!

💡easy art journal exercise: loopy scribbles

doodle continuous little loops from one edge to another across the page. let the repetitiveness and smooth glide of the marker be meditative. make them inconsistent. do it however you feel like!

this one of my go-tos when I don’t know what else to do but I wanna make something. it’s usually a kick off to something bigger. I can’t wait to see how this spread turns out when I have more capacity to create!

it’s also a cool way to take stock of what markers you have 😎

swipe to the last slide to see my monster of a first try at macrame 🤣

reminder that your first time trying a craft COULD turn out ugly 😌 accept it, and if you didn’t hate the process, try again! I’m glad I did, I love that red tree!

(pottery on the other hand… I may give it one more try and that’s it)

🌸🌼 flower bracelets. or flower crowns? (for cats only)

this project is perfect for when I need something to occupy my hands while still paying attention to something else. once I got the hang of the pattern, it’s easy peasy! and so fun to play with the colour combinations.

my goal was to use up the yarn i already have but i kindaaaa want to buy more so i can play with MORE colours 🙈 resisting the urge for now!

which one is your favourite colour combo? 🐱
