The Block 13 Story
In Toronto, Canada, there are three public housing communities that exist together on the south-east end of Scarborough; Firvalley Court, Cataraqui Crescent and Leyton Avenue.
These three communities have been labeled "Block 13" by the TCHC (Toronto Community Housing Corporation). Musical artists in the neighborhood turned the negative branding into a positive symbol.
Going through rough times and sharing experiences as a community brought different elements of Block 13 together. But it's through music where Block 13 has had their greatest impact. From humble beginnings performing at local venues around Toronto, to collaborating with artists from around the globe, Block 13 has shown the world they have what it takes to perform alongside the hottest artists of today.
