The passion and artistry they brought to this piece was amazing to watch. As we work on post production of our film, we look forward to introducing you to our cast. As we approach the end of June we prepare to take our last bows of the season at year end Recitals. The end of a season is always bittersweet but the summer training season is when we can continue to push ourselves. New skills, new experiences, new connections! That’s what our intensive is all about. Connecting with new dancers, working professionals and creating a work of art!

We are very excited to welcome back as both Project Manager and Faculty of DDI Season 2!
*
Sarah Dowhun-Tompa is a professional dance artist and educator. She has received her ballet teaching certification as an Associate of the Cecchetti Society of Canada (ACSC-CICB) and is certified in Conditioning with Imagery and the Progressing Ballet Technique Syllabus. Having received her Honours Degree in Dance from York University, Sarah was introduced to a variety of ballet and modern styles and methodologies that have been instrumental in developing her critical eye for technique.

Sarah has worked in the performance industry in numerous films, television programmes and music/conceptual videos as both a featured performer, extra and most recently assistant choreographer. Sarah continues to appear in live stage productions across the GTA.

Choreographically, Sarah’s work can be seen on stage for various studios and schools, both recreational and competitive, as full time faculty as well as a guest competitive choreographer across the Greater Hamilton/Toronto areas. Most recently Sarah has worked behind the scenes on set as Assistant Choreographer, and Adjudicator on sets and at competitions across Canada.

Lineen Doung has been dancing since the age of 19 years old where he quickly grew to realize that he did not want to do anything else. Investing himself into the hip hop genre and opening up his training in Ballet, Jazz and Contemporary, he quickly integrated himself into the dance industry and the entertainment industry as a dancer, performer and actor. He has danced for artists like Shawn Mendes, Lights, Kreesha Turner and many more. He has worked for reputable choreographers such as Luther Brown, Leon Blackwood, Shavar Blackwood, Lenny Len, Mark Samuels and more. He continues his passion by teaching workshops across Canada and training those looking for professional training with DARK Dance Company, a company that he began in 2010. After a decade of training individuals in the Toronto and Barrie area, many of them have ventured off to be professionals in the industry where they have danced for Coachella, Nicki Minaj, Ricky Martin, and much more. Many of his students have also gone into being part of shows such as Mamma Mia, the Newsies Toronto and Footloose to name a few. He is currently still teaching many students in DARK with Allison Bradley who is the contemporary supervisor. He is also following his passion of film making and creating short films and creative films by expanding his knowledge and practices. He is excited to see where his new journey takes him and is hoping to bring his love of dance and his experiences from dance into this new venture.

With a background as a high level dancer and actor, and having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, Alexandra truly understands the pressures and anxieties of being “on”. Having dealt with performance anxiety throughout her career as an elite-level performer, she understands the transformative power of a healthy mindset. She is passionate about helping clients build essential life skills such as growing authentic confidence, gaining clarity and learning how to set and achieve goals!

Lisa Auguste is a multi-faceted performer working in Toronto, Ontario. She is a highly sought after professional dancer specializing in ballet to hiphop, latin to breakdance (and everything inbetween). Lisa can be seen on T.V in “Zoey’s extraordinary playlist”’ What we do in the shadows”, “The Boys”, Shadow Hunters”, “The Expanse”, “Disneys -Sneakerella”, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show(Remake)”. She acted in feature films including “Silent Hill 2”, “Jean of the Joneses”, “Shall We Dance” (starring Richard Gere). Lisa was honoured to be a finalist in the first season of “So You Think You Can Dance Canada”, after gracing the Mirvish stage as Cheetah in “The Lion King”. She has shown her prowess dancing in music videos for Katy Perry,Janelle Monae, Jully Black, Kreesha Turner, Shawn Desman and more. She has performed at the PanAm Games Ceremonies in Guadalajara and Toronto. She took to the Four Seasons Stage in “Nixon in China” and “Aida” for the Canadian Opera Company. When she is not performing, Lisa is teaching, working, choreographing and adjudicator across Canada.

Julia Cratchley is a Toronto based choreographer originally from Richmond Hill, Ont. Julia trained as a contemporary and classical artist in Vancouver, B.C, with Arts Umbrella’s Graduate Program under the direction of Artemis Gordon and Lynn Sheppard. Having the opportunity to work with internationally known choreographers, including Emily Molnar, Roberto Campanella, Serge Bennethon, and Robert Glumbek to name a few.

Julia was lucky enough to be a part of Toronto dance company Helix Dance Project for four seasons as a dancer and assistant choreographer. She was a dancer and choreographer for Bridge to Artists first three seasons. Julia also danced for Toes for Dance, Conteur Dance Company and Rutherford Movement Exchange. Julia has also toured Canada New York and Dominican Republic.
Julia opened her own immersive dance company TranscenDance Project in 2015 with its first interactive show “Eve of St.George” which has now run for three seasons. Julia recently premiered “A Grimm Night” which is the newest interactive production of the company. Julia has also recently been certified as a pilates instructor to support her dance training and teaching.
