Movement for Actors - The Batdorf Technique
January 16 – February 20
6 weeks
6pm – 8pm
$225 plus HST = $254.25
Come integrate what you already know about performance with deep internal awareness to make you the most compelling actor possible. This unique class teaches the practitioner to use the body to develop compelling performance and creation technique.
The Batdorf Technique is a performance training system developed by Erika Batdorf over 28 years of performance research. It is a carefully developed approach to emotional discovery while developing interoceptive (internal) awareness, that assists in the development of compelling performance work. The technique organizes the practitioners access to specifically located awarenesses (blood, breath, gravity, pain/pleasure, temperature…) that can eventually be consciously modulated to vary the kinaesthetic state (physiologically based emotion) being communicated to the audience or scene partner.
