We have a lot of customers coming in looking for the latest and most popular books, the current best sellers. But more often than not, we don’t have them. We have lots of good stock but the new stuff just isn’t coming in. That didn’t used to be a problem, but now it is.
So we wanted to remind you, that you can order through us, at a discount of 20%, and if you bring it back here when you are finished, we can offer you cash or double that as credit. That way you pay less for your book and someone else can then buy it used.
Maybe this is happening because books are expensive, maybe because people are reading online, maybe they aren’t ready to give them up, or maybe people are just reading less. We don’t know, but we hope this reminder can help you remember that we can’t sell what we can’t get.

I think this is the book I need this summer.

In 1925, before he wrote The Hobbit, Tolkien wrote this little story to console his four year old son who had lost his toy dog. A lovely story with wizards and dragons, magic and courage, beautifully illustrated by Tolkein, that is a perfect read-aloud book.
