Hi, I'm Kat! Check out my page for lettering art and modern calligraphy, and learn some tips and tri I always missed art!
What started as a passion project has become a wonderful creative outlet, that spread through word of mouth, and is now KJM Lettering! My passion for art started young, but as I started working I created less and less. A few friends were getting married and I had so much fun lettering for their events, that my hobby quickly grew into more. I'm excited to share my lettering journey with you, as I continue to learn and grow, and as I create for events around Toronto.

A milestone board to celebrate Debbie’s 60th birthday!🎉

Debbie’s daughter liked the board I created for Maureen’s 70th (check it out on my page👌) & wanted the same layout. I love these boards as flashbacks to the past🔮

Check out the gorgeous Japanese paper up close, with pressed flower petals🌸
I lettered this for my wonderful mum, using a Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen. The pen’s hard tip allows for good control when lettering on bumpy, textured paper👌

Celebrating a milestone birthday for a very special birthday lady🎉💜🎊
A look back to 1948🔮... when a week of food cost $20, the LP record was invented, and yes, you read that right - minimum wage was 40 cents an hour!!💵
The bday girl was thrilled with this milestone board & I was too!😊
Also, someone asked if I use stencils or a computer for my lettering (which is a great compliment for me, as a perfectionist🤓) - for the record, all my work is done by hand!✍️

Revisiting this ✨beauty✨ from an autumn wedding, which you may have seen on my story!👀
The happy couple found this door and wanted to reuse it as their wedding seating chart... a seriously perfect find!!♻️ Add in my handlettering & a little elbow grease to polish the door frame, and voila!✨ What a fun one to work on - especially the florals at the top!🌸💕

I’ve been a little quiet with sharing lately, because we’ve been on a trip out to Atlantic Canada! Since we’re in Nova Scotia & by the ocean, it seems only appropriate to share this welcome sign!

I handlettered this welcome sign for a nautical-themed summer party. The party’s organizer was completely open to ideas.... I had so much fun designing the sign, picking colours, and brainstorming nautical (or should I say, knot-ical😏) puns!
