I’ve taken a March break and am spending the month in Punjab at my family’s village with my grandfather, learning all sorts of amazing things from cooking, making medicine, moves for strength and flexibility, the simple truths of my grandfathers wisdom and more. I look forward to being back in Santa Barbara in April where I will resume my classes at the Carrillo Recreation Center Saturdays at 9:30 am and at Hamsa Studio in Ojai.

Starting next Saturday the 16th at 9am my BalleDancePower classes will be held at the Carrillo Rec Center in downtown Santa Barbara. This class is a fusion of Bhangra folk dance, dance therapy and fitness. Join us for fun and please share this flyer with all the pertinent info. Feel free to message us with questions!
Please note that there is no charge for the first class on the 16th, as it will be held during the yearly free class week.
A courtyard full of joyful dancing, Bhangra fills the body with joy! This is at Paseo Nuevo Santa Barbara this last Sunday, Yes You Can Dance Salsa is hosting free dancing on Sunday evenings. Join us at YesDance on Wednesday at 7pm and Saturday at 2pm for Bhangra, a workout for the body and mind.
A little video of my class last night at Hamsa Dance Studio. We started off with some breathing and stretching exercises. We learned some new moves and combinations to the dhol beat and then brought them into a few songs. The end of the video is the last song we did.
This is an amazing class, students feel joyful, open and rooted. The gentleman that was there was on his 3rd class and hasn't been there in awhile, he told me at the end of the class that the first two classes changed his relationship with the ocean when he surfs. That makes total sense since Punjabi dance and culture is all about water, fluid and powerful.
Hamsa in Ojai will be hosting my mentor Dr. Jasprit Singh every Sunday from 2-4:30 pm for extensive workshops on Bhangra for the next 6 weeks. I had another great class at today. Join me in Saturday's at 2pm or Wednesday's at 6:30pm located right in right beside Nordstrom and Lorna Jane Active Wear. We had a few first timers and they confirmed the testament that you leave happy even if it's your first time.
