The other day, I read an article that said kids who have involved grandparents show significantly lower levels of anxiety and depression. It stopped me in my tracks.

Sometimes, as parents, we hesitate to let our parents love our kids their way—maybe afraid they’ll be spoilt, or that it’s too different from our own approach. But that love… it’s nourishing in a way we can’t always give. It’s soft, safe, and rooted in decades of wisdom and experience.

We all have different roles to play in raising a child. We bring structure, they bring softness. We teach, they comfort. We guide, they listen.

Our ways may differ—but together, they help shape whole, emotionally rich humans. And what a gift that is. ❤️

Before there were tiny hands tugging at your clothes… before snack time and nap time and the beautiful chaos of raising little humans…
There was just the two of you.

And that love? It’s where it all began. 💛

When I photograph families, I always carve out time for mom and dad — together. Candid or gently directed, these moments matter. Because in the whirlwind of parenthood, your love still deserves to be seen.

You’re not just parents — you’re partners. And that connection is worth documenting just as much as your babies’ giggles.

Keep choosing each other. Keep growing in love. That’s the heart of it all.

Let them run. Let them splash. Let them be little.

It’s always special to photograph families, but this one means a little extra — we’ve known this amazing mama through the industry, and it was an honor to come back and to document her growing crew.

We are definitely on borrowed time this year with the beautiful autumn season that lasts longer than usual. We are slowly letting it go and welcoming the winter to rest and recharge.
