Today, our cohort learned about regional mapping techniques with Precambrian Geoscientists from the Ontario Geological Survey around Laurentian University.

Today, S-IMEW participants stood inside one of Earth’s most remarkable geological features, the Sudbury Basin. A meteor impact crater formed 1.85 billion years ago!
Led by Shirley Peloquin, Brad Clarke, Grant Mourre and Matt MacMillan, the cohort explored one of the world’s richest mining regions for nickel, copper, and precious metals.
