Winter Storm!

🥶

Ahhh….the good ole days! We miss you all and just wanted to have a little fun this morning remembering what it was like to have a business where we had to worry about things like this.

Been a while since we’ve posted, and only because we haven’t had much to say over the last few years.

Except…we aren’t done fighting!!!!!

We are still doing everything we can to get back open, and we hope to have some great news in the the first quarter of 2023.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. We miss you so much, and cannot wait to see everyone’s face again.

Stay tuned….

Jean Marchinko - “Celebration Of Life”

Good morning everyone,

Today we are announcing that there will be a memorial for the late Jean Marchinko. For those of you who do not know Jean, she was the mother of our veteran employee Terry, and she passed away recently.

Jean was also a former employee of ours, and a pillar in the bingo community who was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

For anyone who would like to pay their respects to Jean, and the rest of the Marchinko family, Terry has asked us to pass on the following details:

The gathering will be at the Branch 31 Legion located at 1050 Weston Road

Date: August 13

Time: 1pm to 5pm.

Thank you.

Good evening everyone,

Yes, it has been a while. Far too long actually.

Thank you all for the kind messages we have received over this last little while. It sure is nice knowing so many of you are out there thinking of us and are in full support of our battle.

And usually in the case of "no news is good news", we'd be happy to report that. However, when it comes to the status of our business, no news has been painful.

We know we are on the eve of the province finally "opening" back up a little, which includes the re-openings of bingo halls, but we have not had any luck getting anyone from the Doug Ford government to reach out and try to solve the problems we face after countless meetings, calls and emails etc.

As it stands now, we are still without a building, and thus no business to operate. We are STILL waiting on approvals from the government and our licensing bodies to help our hall gain access to the modernized gaming machines that many other halls and gaming centres have been afforded. Without these products we will not be able to provide you with the entertainment that you would be expecting.

It is a massive red tape battle.

So while we are still down, we are not out. We have what we feel are the most important meetings in the future of our bingo hall coming up in the next week or so. These meetings are crucial to the survival of our hall, which in turn allows us to help so many employees and the charities we are partnered with.

So while you may not see us for a little while longer, trust us in that we are not going down without a fight, and we will ensure the future of Ultimate Bingo is in tact for decades to come.

We miss all your smiling faces, and we vow to see you all very soon.

Until then, please enjoy the rest of the summer, and we will be in touch much more frequently to let you know the status of what we have going on.

Thank you,
Ultimate Bingo!

OLG 'crippling' North Bay charities 11/18/2020

Hello Ultimate Bingo faithful!

This is a plea to all of our customers for the future of Ultimate Bingo.

Please read the attached article (which directly relates to us) and if you would be so kind as to leave comments at the bottom of their post expressing your displeasure at what the government is doing to all of us, it will go along way to help.

We have battled with the OLG and the Ontario government for over 2.5 years, and yet here we are still fighting for what’s right.

They've been responsible for our lease being terminated, the layoffs of all of our staff, the stoppage of funding for the 30 charities that are apart of our Ultimate Bingo Charity Association, and let's not forget all of our service providers that have also lost everything in this.

With love, please, please, please take a few minutes to read the article and post your comments at the bottom on the North Bay Nugget post. Premier Ford, the Minister of Finance Rod Phillips and the OLG need to hear you loud and clear.

Thank you! UB.

Hello everybody!

Been a while since we last checked in too see how everyone is doing.

We know there's a great number of you wondering what we are up to and what our plans are. All we can tell you is that COVID-19 has not made things easy to get stuff done in this Province. So unfortunately we are a little behind getting the move on.

We are still in the process of finalizing our relocation plans so just know that while we may not be up and running this summer, we will have big plans to announce shortly.

So please sit tight and be patient as we know it's been a painful process. When we have a formal announcement ready to go, you will all be the first ones to hear it!

In the meantime, please be safe and healthy and we shall see each other again very soon.

Happy 7th Anniversary! Happy Relocation!....Relocation?!

What a way to celebrate the exact day of our 7th anniversary at our Steeles Avenue location than to inform all of you that we will be relocating our hall once again!

That’s correct, we will be moving on from our 5601 Steeles Ave location and onto greener pastures as soon as we are able to.

Due to a mutual parting of ways between us and or property management group, we will be moving on from the location we have called home for the past 7 years.

As most of you already know, our sights are now fully focused on securing a new building to expand our business and take it to the next level. This decision was forced upon us, but we welcome the situation and we will be better off for it.

(Not to worry, we have no plans on moving far away and will be just a stones’ throw away from where we’ve resided on Steeles Avenue!)

As for the past 7 years, we have accomplished many wonderful things together. We thank ALL of our loyal customers who helped build our bingo up to be the best in Ontario, even breaking some prestigious records along the way (ahem, one hall, $250,001 program!!).

We consider this Steeles location a stepping stone to allowing us the opportunity to continue servicing our faithful supporters in the future, at our new and we promise, FINAL residence.

Please continue to support our page and please keep the dialogue open with us on this post. We will respond to as many questions or comments as we can.

We will see each other again very soon. We PROMISE!

With love,
Your Family at Ultimate Bingo

Quarantine Day 50!

We've reached a half a century in days without our beloved bingo. So hard to fathom.

How is everyone doing? Hopefully the warmer weather has you all feeling better these days as being stuck at home and having zero desire to go out in the cold really didn't help things.

But the sun is shining more and more these days and hopefully that in turn helps curb this virus.

We want to pose some quick questions, so please feel free to be as open and honest as possible. It will really help us when the time comes to open our doors again.
1. Has this layoff made you miss bingo more or less?
2. Will you be more concerned playing knowing all that we've been told to do is distance ourselves from others? Will a gathering environment hold you back and/or keep you away for a lot longer?
3. Will senior citizens be less inclined to play again considering they are in the higher risk factor?
4. Finally the most important question...seeing as most of us have been off work and will be for the next few months or more, how will your spending habits change? Would you rather see lower costs and lower prize boards or expect things to be the same? Just keep in mind that if it's lower costs, it would in turn mean significantly altered prize boards.

We firmly believe the whole system and all of our habits will be completely altered, but we still hold out hope that we can try to reconnect that normalcy we had before. But we won't know until we reopen, and the longer this closure lasts, the more and more questions will arise.

Anyway, hope you are all staying healthy and active, and we look forward to hearing from you.

UB!

National Bingo Night 04/06/2020

Day 22...yikes. We're actually at 22 days. Everyday blends into one now it seems.

How is everyone doing out there in the wild? Are we all keeping our sanity, and most of all staying healthy?

As you can understand, we do not have any answers right now and based on our dealings with the governing bodies of our industry lately we can tell you that reopening bingo halls is nowhere on the radar. We are still holding onto the notion that come May things will change. Until then, we're all locked in like rats.

Back to some entertainment...does anyone remember this show, National Bingo Night? Wow, can't believe they made a game show out of bingo. Entertaining nonetheless, and I'm sure if it was still on would do huge numbers in these parts!

Enjoy, UB.

Day14!!! Well, here we are 14 days later and unfortunately as we all know our initial thoughts we would be closed for only two weeks was a pipe dream.

We are still not sure what decisions will be made in the short term, but in the long term we would hope to have some normalcy come end of April. That’s all we can hope.

In the meantime, we thought you would all enjoy this wholesome bingo content!

Taken from the Impractical Jokers TV show, this clip is amazing. What would you do if this guy (Sal) was in our hall? Lol.

Stay safe everyone and we hope you are all keeping your sanity.
