Writing a new album + moving during a 6-planet parade was a TEST but great for some song inspiration 🙂‍↔️🤝🪐

Last night, we lost our angel. Our light, our baby girl. I know everyone always says that they have the best dog the best companion. Well Aria was my best, my best teacher, my best listener, my best comfort and support, my best competition, my best believer and fan, my best friend. She brought out the best in me and in anyone she met in life. She was selfless, always putting everyone in front of her. She was so smart and aware of us and how we were feeling. She felt our pain and exhaustion on tough days but also cultivated our happiness and love on the good. She was our human, our person. She was so in tune, always knew what was going on around her…She would get sassy when she’d see our suitcases knowing we’re gonna be leaving again. She knew when to wake you up with kisses and when to just lie there with you quietly. She was so special, to not just me but so many people, in fact every person that Aria met always had smiles when she left them. Aria was a mini Aussie but there was nothing mini about her. She was fast strong, curious, guiding and empathetic. She was only 5 years old turning 6 in a few months. About 3 months ago we learned that there was a mass on Aria’s kidney that started forming, after X-rays we saw that the mass was cancerous and it had already spread rapidly. We acted fast meeting with vets finding solutions but her being in Thunder Bay, it was very hard to get proper and affordable pet care. The vet said it would be too hard to operate on her as the cancer had already spread to her lungs. The vet gave her only a few weeks to a month to live. But Aria defied them, at Christmas break, when I got to be with her, you would never even know what was going on underneath all that fur. She was tired yes but still her same loving, active, playful self. It was only this last week where everything took a turn. We knew what was coming, we knew we wanted Aria to go out as the happy - young life living dog that she was not in pain and suffering. It was the hardest thing to do, something no one should have to do. But it was what we had to do for our baby. I tell Arias story not to evoke fear and worry but to spread her light (continued in the comments ⬇️)

She’s all yours 🕊️🕊️ BLUEBIRD is now live - this was a dream to put together. It was the most last minute addition, I heard ‘s version and fell in love with the melancholy mood and began to try and learn it on guitar. I reached out to and to see if it was too late to add this to our session but we snuck it in and I’m so grateful. This wouldn’t have been possible without they never even rehearsed the string parts together but came in and crushed it out. The song just spoke for itself and we knew after that day it was a special one. Now she’s all yours, hope this helps gets you through any of the emotions you’re having to face today 🤍🙂‍↕️

BLUEBIRD - on November 21st • I’ll be dropping my cover of the haunting song. This will be the first time I ever recorded acoustic guitar myself on a record and it was terrifying. I’m learning lots about how to properly record that instrument, like tuning every five seconds haha but it also features some of my favourite vocals to date.
