Today marks 45 trips around the sun!

Ever since my adventures in Japan half a lifetime ago, I always love to see the cherry blossoms as a part of my birthday celebration. Last year I dragged my injured son to it after basketball practice. We didn't last long. This year I dragged my overtired daughter and mom. We didn't last long. I debated taking my camera and decided to leave it at home. Sometimes just getting there is half the battle!

Did we get good photos? Not the best, no. My hair looks like a mullet, my laugh lines are laughing extra hard, I've got a guy behind me picking his nose, and composition is, um, a little bit off I'd say, but good effort, daughter!

Nonetheless, grateful to be going strong and loving my little life!

So let's get together to celebrate yours too! Especially in light of Mother's Day. I promise to keep the people in the background at bay 😉 Thank you to everyone who has been with me in my journey xox

13 years already since Dad went to a better place 🧡

April is the month where I take stock of what a life lived can look like... from Dad’s birth date to Holocaust Remembrance Day to the day we said goodbye.

Today I honour my Dad in light of never forgetting what he went through as a young Jewish boy and especially in light of coming out of it to make a home here in Canada in search of "peace and quiet..." I'm not sure we entirely gave that to him as I can still hear him asking for "peace and quiet!" ...Definitely miss driving him a bit crazy as a kid :)

Very proud to be a part of his landing place and hope I can give my kids, too, the sense of family, security, love, spice and humour that we got to experience with Dad in his second half of life 🧡 Love you, DAD!

Spring warmth is feeling closer and closer, and I don’t know about you, but it feels so good to finally shake off the hibernation! Everything is starting to bloom and it is such a gorgeous (and underrated) time for family photos.

When was the last time you got your big, amazing family together in one frame? 🧡

A couple of years back, when my brother’s family and mine went to Costa Rica with my Mom, we made a point to hire a local photographer. Looking back at those photos now, I am so incredibly glad we did. Even as a photographer myself, being in the frame with the people I love is a gift I don't take for granted.

This beautiful family had the same great idea! They were celebrating a special occasion for their parents and decided to capture the whole crew together before heading out to see Cirque du Soleil.

Sometimes that’s the best plan: take a time when you’re all going to be together anyway, give me a shout, and let’s capture the magic while everyone is already glowing. No extra stress, just beautiful memories.
