Tonight at 7 pm at TYPE Books in the Junction! We hope to see you all there! Co-presented with Common Notions
The event launches two recent publications that offer original and powerful insight on these themes: On Microfascism: Gender, War, and Death and For Antifascist Futures: Against the Violence of Imperial Crisis.
Both On Microfascism and For Antifascist Futures reveal the forces behind today’s swell of fascist and reactionary cultural forces and links its expressions to important dimensions of racialized masculinity and gender politics, as well as global dimensions of ongoing (settler) colonialism and racial capitalism.
Jack Z. Bratich is professor in the Journalism and Media Studies Department at Rutgers University, and author of On Microfascism: Gender, War, and Death.
Anne Spice (Tlingit) is a member of Kwanlin Dun First Nation and an assistant professor of Geography and Environmental Studies at Ryerson University. They are an anticolonial organizer, land defender, and hand-poked tattoo artist. Their writing has been published in Environment and Society, Jacobin, The New Inquiry, and Asparagus Magazine, and are a contributor to For Antifascist Futures: Against the Violence of Imperial Crisis.

Dear friends, we urge you to sign (and share!) this petition to tell the TTC to wait to close Queen St. until after the holiday shopping and dining season.
"The closing of the street for TTC repairs will most certainly result in the permanent closure of numerous local businesses, along with further erosion of civic and social vibrancy. Sign this petition to get the TTC to delay this construction until January 1 and give these local business owners the best chances of recovering from all that has happened in the past 2 years."
