The average 5-year fixed mortgage over the last 40 years sits above 5%. We’re currently chilling in the mid 4’s — that’s below average, people.
Now yes, bond yields are climbing 📈, inflation is lurking like that one relative who never leaves, and gas prices are doing their usual villain arc…
BUT — the last time we saw this exact cocktail of chaos? The Canadian government cut mortgage rates to ease the cost of living.
