i approach sculpture holistically. for ‘torsion wave’ the pedestal is as much a part of the piece, (though can be bought separately) it showcases contrasts in raw materials: cement, wood, aluminum

the ink-stained cement sculpture balances from a threaded rod that slides perfectly into a red oak base. the base has a routed channel that houses the interlocked aluminum legs below.

it can be disassembled and flat packed for easy transport/shipping. maybe a problem one no one even worries about, but a fun one for me to solve anyway.
