We show compassion to animals while bringing transparency to the food system and promote vegan living
Toronto Chicken Save aims to erect glass walls at Toronto area slaughterhouses (specifically Maple Leaf "Food" Inc in Toronto at 100 Ethel Avenue & Maple Lodge Farms in Brampton where together 700,000 birds are violently killed daily). We encourage people to go vegan, to be daily animal advocates, and to support local farm sanctuaries. TCS calls for a just transition for workers as we adjust our f
When the slaughterhouse was operating in Toronto this was the horror the chickens endured leading up to their violent death. Sadly, the food system that includes livestock is always going to be a violent and horrific industry for the animals no matter what they tell you.

Their entire short little lives are nothing more than a collection of suffering experiences. They suffer until the bitter end. Please consider their sentience. It’s never too late.
POV: you witness a truck filled with thousands of stressed and frightened ~40 day old chickens arriving for slaughter
Their final moments are filled with absolute horror and suffering. Chickens are sentient, as well as intelligent.

On this day we acknowledge the millions of lives that were slaughtered to celebrate a “holiday”.
At Thanksgiving 2024, 2.1 million whole turkeys were purchased by Canadians.
There were 256 turkey farms in Ontario in 2021, according to data from the Canadian Census of Agriculture.
Please say “thanks” without harming others, including non-human animals.

Imagine your arm being caught in a car door and you aren’t given an option, opportunity, or choice to open the door to safely bring your injured arm in.
If you eat chicken wings, you’re consuming this pain and suffering too.

Join Plant Based Treaty and Toronto Climate Comedy show this Friday in Toronto to help Dhama Ditch Dairy! 🌱🎭

Donate to the fundraiser: plantbasedtreaty.org/dhama
We asked Toronto-based climate comedian, Dhama what it would take for him to ditch dairy. There is one problem! Dhama is addicted to dairy milk and can’t imagine life without it. However, when he met the Plant Based Treaty Toronto team he realised the harmful impact meat and dairy has on the environment and animals. He agreed to ditch dairy for a year if we raise $2,500 CAD for Plant Based Treaty, and his next Toronto Climate Comedy show sells out on August 22.
We’ve accepted the challenge and are now aiming to sell 100 tickets and raise $2,500. You can help by buying tickets for his show and/or contributing to our fundraiser.
