“There is a belief in some corners of the league that the investigation is closer to completion than advertised and that — at some point over the next six weeks — there will be a resolution involving some level of sanctions from the NBA against the Clippers but, ultimately, clearance for LA and Toronto to complete the Leonard trade. Officially, however, none of the parties involved has publicly indicated how feasible that scenario is.”

“Two-time NBA champion and star Kawhi Leonard allegedly had a secret, multimillion-dollar “sponsorship” deal with Daktronics, the manufacturer of the scoreboard at the Intuit Dome, as per former ESPN contributor Pablo Torre on his podcast. 🤯

Pablo Torre reportedly got this information from an “anonymous high-level source under contract for Intuit Dome” who alleged that the sponsorship deal was “openly joked” as being “1,000% a way to circumvent the salary cap.”

It was basically understood to be a way to funnel money from the Clippers through Daktronics back to Leonard, and he was to serve as the official spokesperson for the company. 🧐

Notably, Kawhi Leonard is already at the center of an NBA investigation for another sponsorship deal with a now-bankrupt green banking company.”

The Toronto Raptors have signed 6’10 Center Trey Jemison III to the 3rd and final two-way contract, joining Chucky Hepburn and the rookie Jaden Bradley.

Jemison last played for the New York Knicks last season, where he became an NBA champion and NBA Cup champion with them.
