The Body Burden... why is it important?

To start, we are exposed to chemicals everyday, through our food, drinking water, cosmetics, etc. One major area of exposure is our buildings and interior spaces!

A client came to us asking for a custom bunkbed millwork design for her toddler's room. She had a long list of requirements including a pull-out desk, mezzanine, toddler-height storage, greenery, a mix of materials that conveyed the feeling of a forest, etc. etc.

This is just one angle of the millwork, but the rendered elevations convey how we captured her vision in our design.

Cathedraltown Courtyards is midst pursuing LEED certification. We were brought in by Caricari Lee Architects to help wrap up the documentation.

Sustainable features include: high R-value walls, roof and slab-on-grade to help reduce overall building energy use, the use of high SRI materials to mitigate heat island effects around the building, the use of low-flow and low-flush plumbing fixtures and fittings to reduce indoor potable water use by almost 40%.

Our client asked us to come up with custom millwork for her kid's bedroom. There was a long list of requirements including a loft above the bed, a desk (which we integrated into the cabinetry), rounded shapes, colours and materials that resembled the Pinterest images sent, rattan, plants, and more.

Projects like these are fun design problems that help take away all the guesswork for our clients. We provide all the drawings necessary to bid out the projects to millworkers.

So many ideas flowing!

Our private school client asked us to create a concept for their under utilized lobby. They wanted colour, biophilic design elements, booth seating, and modular furniture to create a sense of liveliness and youth, but also provide users with options. The space was to be transformable so that they could use it during school, for school dances, parent teacher events, etc. We love the vibrancy!

Peg boards are great for applications where the products are always changing. You can customize elements such as shelves, hooks, and even lighting to suit your needs!
