The United States is accusing Canada of not doing enough to stop goods made with forced labour from entering the country. According to the U.S. Trade Representative, Canada’s enforcement actions have been called “minimal,” and a proposed 10% tariff on some Canadian goods could be coming if stronger action is not taken. In response, the Canadian government says it plans to introduce new legislation to strengthen rules against forced-labour imports.
