Available on vinyl for the very first time, it’s Medeski Martin & Wood’s first live album, Tonic. It was originally released in 2000 and features the group in their traditional trio arrangement of piano, bass and drums. It was recorded over two weeks in March of 1999 and the New York City club that shares the same name. This double LP was mastered for vinyl by the legendary Kevin Gray and is pressed on 180 gram vinyl by Optimal Media in Germany.

Effective immediately, we’re making some small adjustments to our retail store operating hours. These changes are based on sales and traffic observed in the shop over the past couple of months, along with customer feedback.

We’ll now be closed on Monday and Tuesday, which lines up with other smaller shops in the city. On Wednesday we’re open 12pm to 6pm. Thursday, Friday and Saturday we’re open from 12pm to 7pm, and on Sunday we’re open 12pm to 6pm.

Just in case you missed it (which thousands of you do because “the algorithm”) we have secured our copies of the first official reissue of Neil Young’s Mirror Ball. This 1995 collaboration with Pearl Jam (they were the backing band) hasn’t been released on vinyl since its initial release way back in ‘95. Some cool facts - it comes housed in a faithfully recreated brown paper outer sleeve just like the original. It even has a replica hype sticker like the original. It has been remastered from the original analog master tapes, supervised by Neil Young himself. The only thing that would make it better would be a bonus 7” of Merkinball, but we digress.

We would recommend against sleeping on this. It will be widely available for a short period of time and then it will disappear. It ships next Friday. Get it while you can, over at…

A grand opening gift from a dear friend of the store that I finally got around to building last week. I haven’t built a Lego set in over 25 years, and honestly it was the most fun I’ve had in a long while! It took about 3.5 hours from beginning to end. There’s a handle on the back that spins the record. The switches are cosmetic but click into place in a satisfying way. The flowers I don’t really get, but Lego. Added challenge. It is on permanent display in the shop if you’re interested.
