Singer, songwriter, Lebanese, Canadian, gay, human, caring, kind, love dogs, film, and cooking ❤️
Born in Kuwait to Lebanese parents, el Hashem (birth name Antoine Elhashem), has lived in Toronto, Canada since the age of 19. Influenced by his aunt, who is considered in the Middle East an iconic trailblazing super star of women in music in the golden era, el Hashem has loved to sing since he was a child. A successful career in media and community leadership dominated his time, and it was not until recently that el Hashem took the leap to pursue one of his life passions, singing. The journey started in early 2021 with a number of cover songs both in English and Arabic languages, that were received very warmly. A music video of one of the song covers played a number of video and film festivals in Europe and NYC and won a number of awards; featuring the unique love story of two Arabic guys in love on a music video. Late in 2021 el Hashem released his first original work, a love song and celebration of mothers and motherhood around the globe (that he wrote when he was missing him mom and her hugs during covid lockdowns). He invited community artist Count Klassy to collaborate, while the song got produced by billboard charting NYC producer Sisco Kennedy, and released by Supa Qween Records. Dance mixes followed by iconic DJs and producers Cozmic Cat and Larry Peace, and a music video directed by Toronto local community award winning filmmaker Davina Hader. In 2022 el Hashem will be releasing a number of very exciting original work, under the umbrella title “from the book of my life”, all personal stories from life experiences. The first release, a heartbreak and empowerment ballad titled “Not the Kinda Heart That Falls Apart” will be followed by a dance EP containing different genres (country, house, pop). A full album, of original songs (and one awesome cover song) will be released in 2023. el Hashem invites listeners to “celebrate the music together…make memories together.” Having grown up feeling “different” from those around him, el Hashem has always wanted to create a world full of things that can bring joy and enjoyment to people.
Just some thought I had over the last week since her performance on the musical awards ✌️❤️ Madonna
Coming October 9.
Pre-save: https://ditto.fm/save-love-this-december-mixes
The song many of you have loved over the past couple of years is coming back. Three different versions are coming together for the first time in Save Love This December – The Collection.
Three versions. One message. You’re not a stranger. You’re a friend. ✌️❤️
Sit with me for another song that means a lot to me. ❤️ ‘This Is Me’ has become one I sing often during Pride season and on different stages — an anthem for anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider, and a reminder to stand proudly in who we are.
Another one from The Rehearsal Sessions. I hope you enjoy. ❤️
Tonight’s kitchen soundtrack: my song “Troll Behind Your Screen.” I’m singing while the lamb shanks slowly braise—because even dinner deserves a soundtrack. 😃❤️
What you think vs. what your dog thinks 😆
Part Two: Since I shared yesterday that I was heading to a gay speed networking event, I thought I’d come back and share three things I learned from the experience. It was a fun afternoon, I met some really interesting people, and it reminded me that sometimes you just have to get out there and connect in real life.
And yes… I’d do it again.
Should be fun 😃❤️
yep that’s about this time last year when my album This WILL Make You Feel Good dropped. It’s been a wonderful journey since then, thank you to everyone who loves the songs on the album ❤️❤️❤️🙏
I used to love singing this song. Now I can’t ignore the hypocrisy between its lyrics and the artist behind them.
Does “us” include everyone—or only selected people?
