August in Canada brings with it some familiar end-of-summer traditions. ☀️

One of the most iconic examples is the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto, a long-standing annual event that has become part of the way many people in Ontario mark the final weeks of summer.

Held during the 18 days leading up to and including Labour Day, the CNE brings together entertainment, food, exhibits, rides, concerts and community experiences, welcoming more than 1.4 million visitors each year. 🎡

Like cottage weekends, days spent in national parks, and summer festivals, events like the CNE are part of the seasonal rhythms that shape life in Canada.

As summer begins to wind down, these traditions become a way to enjoy the season one last time before fall arrives. 🇨🇦

Your occupation is one of the factors considered in Ontario’s new Workforce Priority Stream. 🇨🇦

Under the Expression of Interest system, Ontario assigns points based on both your NOC TEER category and your NOC broad occupational category.

In this post, we break down how these two factors are currently scored according to the Government of Ontario.

👉Remember: EOI scoring factors are not the same as eligibility requirements. Applicants must still meet all applicable stream criteria.

Summer in Canada brings different seasonal traditions to life across the country. 🇨🇦

In Ontario, Muskoka offers a glimpse into one of those summer traditions: cottage life.

With its long history of seasonal cottage living and strong connection to its lakes and waterfront communities, Muskoka reflects a side of Canadian summer life closely tied to the outdoors and the water.

Swimming, boating, spending time at the beach, hiking and enjoying the waterfront are all part of the activities that come alive across Muskoka Lakes during the summer months.

It’s another glimpse into how the seasons shape everyday life across Canada. ☀

During the summer months, national parks offer opportunities to hike scenic trails, camp, relax on beautiful beaches, observe wildlife, and enjoy nature with family and friends.

Among these natural treasures is Prince Edward Island National Park, located in the province of Prince Edward Island. It is known for its red sandstone cliffs, sandy beaches, coastal dunes, and picturesque trails.

Summer in Montréal is more than a season. It’s a way of life.

As the warm weather arrives, the city naturally shifts outdoors. 🌞 Parks fill with picnics, patios become gathering places, pedestrian streets come alive with local markets, live performances and public art, and people spend more time connecting with their community.

This vibrant outdoor culture is part of what makes Montréal, Québec, so unique.

Long winters make summer especially meaningful, and residents embrace every opportunity to enjoy the sunshine, celebrate diversity and experience the city’s rich cultural scene through iconic traditions like the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal and L’International des Feux Loto-Québec.

It’s one of the many traditions that reflects the Canadian lifestyle: making the most of every season and creating spaces where culture, music and community come together. 🇨🇦
