Little feet and big trucks!!!🚒🚒🚒 Kindergarten littles had the absolute best time visiting the Swift Current Fire Department. But the secret is... the crew has even more fun than the kids! 🥰 Let’s be honest, we love showing off the trucks just as much as everyone loves seeing them. ❤️Thank you for bringing so much energy and joy to the station! You're welcome back anytime.

Yesterday we proudly recognized three members of the Swift Current Fire Department for their years of dedicated service to our community. Their commitment, professionalism, and sacrifice help keep Swift Current safe every day.

Dean Diguer - Deputy Chief of Prevention - 20 years of service
Kent Silbernagel - C Platoon Captain - 20 years of service
Joel Rogers - Auxiliary Firefighter - 10 years of service

The department was honoured to have Jeremy Patzer, M.P. present each award along with Mayor All Bridal in attendance.

Public Safety Canada is clear: every household should be self-sufficient for at least 72 hours. As this week on the prairies tells a very real story, help may be delayed in arriving due to severe flooding and impassible roads, or for a host of various other reasons.

🚗 When it is safe to travel, what are your TWO evacuation routes out of the city?
📞 Do you have an out of city or out of province contact?
🏫 What's your protocol if the kids are at school when an emergency hits?
🏠 Where is your family meeting spot if you can't reach each other?
🔒 Do you know how to shut of your house gas and water?

Today, on the National Day of Mourning, we take time to remember the workers who were injured or lost their lives because of their work.

🕊️ In 2024, there were 27 workplace fatalities in our province — lives lost to both traumatic incidents and occupational disease. Each year, about 2,400 workers also suffer serious injuries.

We honour those workers by renewing our commitment to safe workplaces and by looking out for one another, so everyone can go home safely to their families. 🤍
