The Swift Current Museum is celebrating Canada's game with a one-of-a-kind travelling exhibition from the Canadian Museum of History. Hockey, presented until July 2026, looks at how the sport has influenced our lives, and what that reveals about us as people. From Paul Henderson's winning goal for Canada in the 1972 Summit Series to Manon Rhéaume’s debut as an NHL goalie to Sheldon Kennedy's advocacy on behalf of sexual abuse victims, Hockey revisits game-changing moments and players.

By highlighting tabletop hockey games, Roch Carrier's classic story "The Hockey Sweater", and Shania Twain's NHL-inspired stage outfits, the exhibition also reminds us how deeply hockey is woken into the tapestry of Canadian life.

If you have any questions, please contact us at (306) 778-2775 or [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you!

Be sure to stop by the Swift Current Museum on May 20th at 12:00pm for this month's Lunch & Learn with the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society! From Stone Tools to Settlements: Saskatchewan's Deep Past explores more than 10,000 years of human history on the northern plains, revealing a rich and enduring record of life in what is now Saskatchewan.

Drawing on archaeological evidence, from stone tools and campsite remains to hearths, ceramics, and settlement patterns, this presentation traces how people adapted to shifting environments, developed technologies, and built complex relationships with the land over many millennia. It highlights the deep time depth of Indigenous presence in the region and the ways in which archaeology helps us understand past lifeways, mobility, and community connections. By bringing together material evidence and landscape perspectives, this talk invites audiences to see familiar places in new ways and to recognize the long and dynamic history beneath our feet.

Register for your meal before May 15th to secure a lunch! If you're not interested in lunch - no problem! Simply drop in and find a seat!
