We had a great town hall meeting yesterday to get community support and put pressure on liberals if they can support bill C-242 act JAIL NOT A BAIL. Unfortunately, it didn't happen the way we wanted.
The Liberal government has voted against Bill C-242, also known as the Stop Liberal Bail motion, proposed by the Conservatives.

The bill aimed to keep repeat offenders in custody rather than being released under the current bail system. The Liberal government is delaying much needed action while communities continue to face the consequences of catch and release approach.

The Conservative Party has pledged to continue pushing for tougher bail measures

My heart goes out to all those affected by the tragic act of violence at the Lapu-Lapu event in Vancouver last night.

This was meant to be a celebration of culture, community, and pride — and it is heartbreaking that such a joyous gathering was met with violence.

Today, we stand with the Filipino-Canadian community and offer our deepest condolences and unwavering support to everyone impacted.
Canada’s strength lies in its vibrant and diverse communities, and no one should ever have to fear while celebrating their heritage.

We are thinking of the victims, their families, and everyone who has been affected. Our hearts are with you.
