Funny enough, I was just telling a friend of mine last week how some family and friends have refered to me as Snow White šŸ˜…

The talent is already in the room!

I find myself saying this quite often, and I can see it land differently depending on who’s in front of me. Some hear it as reassurance, while some hear it as a challenge.

The ones who hear it as a challenge?... Those are usually the ones who already know something is off!… That something is missing!… That the results aren’t matching the room! And they can feel it!

After four Olympics and years of working with high performing teams, here’s what I’ve learned:
That gap is rarely about skill; It’s almost always about mindset or energy or… both!

Which means (and here’s the good news) it’s almost always fixable, without needing restructuring or another training program… Just a different way of thinking about what performance actually requires.

Save this if it resonates.

And if you’re leading a team where this is the conversation that needs to happen… send me a message! šŸ™‚

Happy Nurses Week! šŸ¤

A few of you may already know this, but my dad was a doctor who practiced on Prince Edward Island for 50 years.

He ALWAYS spoke about how important nurses were to the care of every patient! He said the hospitals (and doctors themselves) would be lost without them!

He was deeply grateful for the nurses he worked with throughout his career, and their compassion, skills and dedication never went unnoticed! (At least, not to him!)

Our healthcare system is struggling right now, and nurses are dealing with a lot. They certainly deserve to be recognized!

Thank you to all the nurses for everything you do every single day! šŸ™

Your comfort zone can feel safe… but it’s often the very thing holding you back from where you’re trying to go!…

See?… Growth doesn’t happen when everything feels easy. It happens when you’re willing to push past what’s familiar, even if it’s uncomfortable.

Complacency (falling into the category of ā€œautopilotā€ or ā€œthe status quoā€) has a subtle way of keeping you exactly where you are, telling you everything’s ā€œgood enoughā€ā€¦ while your potential is sitting just beyond that next move. You just have to be willing to take the FIRST step!

I know it can feel scary to start before you feel ready but… that’s usually where everything begins! šŸ‘Š

At the Olympic level, everybody is talented!

Everybody has put in the hours… Everybody has the skill set to compete…

So, what separates the ones who perform from the ones who don’t?…

It’s not more talent or more training; It’s what’s happening in the mind… and in the body.

See?… Elite athletes don’t just push harder. They train with purpose... recover with intention... and develop a mindset that lets them perform at their best when it matters most.

Not just once. But consistently!

The leaders I work with who sustain high performance long term?… They’ve figured out the same thing.

They stopped asking: ā€œHow much more can we do?ā€ And started asking: ā€œHow well can we perform?ā€

That shift changes everything! šŸ™‚

Are you leading your team like a high achiever? Or like a high performer? (There’s a difference. A big one!....)

ā€œWhen one woman steps into history, she doesn’t just open a door… she leaves it wide open behind her.ā€ ~ Unknown

On Saturday,Ā Cherie DeVauxĀ didn’t just win theĀ Kentucky Derby… she made history in a way that will be remembered FAR beyond the track.

In case you missed it: The horse she trained, Golden Tempo, delivered a win at the 2026 Kentucky Derby that felt straight out of a movie.

He was sitting dead last going into the final turn, then suddenly found another gear and came flying down the stretch. WithĀ JosĆ© OrtizĀ riding, he passed horse after horse to take the win at 23–1 odds!!!

And, for the first time ever… a woman stood at the top as the winning trainer! šŸ†

And that moment?… It carries SO much more than a title!

It’s a reminder that there are no spaces off limits! Even the ones that weren’t built with women in mind.

It speaks to the years of being underestimated, overlooked, and told to stay in the background, only to show up anyway, do the work and change the outcome.

Because breaking barriers doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like consistency, resilience, and showing up when no one’s watching. Until suddenly…. everyone is! šŸ˜‰

This is for anyone who has had to prove themselves more than once… For the ones who didn’t get the same opportunities but made their own... For the ones still working toward something bigger, even when it feels like no one sees it yet…

In this case, it happened to be a woman. But… it could be you who just happened to put yourself in a box with a ā€˜ceiling’!…

I hope everyone — especially the next generation — watching moments like this realizes there is nothing they’re not allowed to go after!

The odds were 23-1. They showed up anyway!…

So can you! šŸ”„

8 in 10 people on your team are not fully engaged at work!

That’s not a motivational scare tactic. That’s based on Gallup’s 2025 research.

And the cost globally?… $10 trillion in lost productivity. In a single year. A single year! 🤯

Most leaders look at that number and immediately think: Skills gap… Better hiring… More training…

But in my experience – four separate Olympic Games and three completely different sports on the world stage – the gap between talent and performance is almost never a skills problem.

It’s a mindset problem! And it’s an energy problem!

And that’s actually good news....

Because it means you don’t need a single new hire to close it!

I wrote more about this in detail in my latest newsletter. If this interests you, check it out!

I don’t know about you, but after these past couple of weeks, I have a lot more interest in space, and I’ve learned a lot!

Did you know astronauts have a name for what happens when they see Earth from space.

They call it the ā€œoverview effectā€.

Suddenly everything looks different!... No borders… No noise… Just one small planet floating in the dark!…

Talk about perspective!

During NASA’s Artemis II mission around the Moon, astronauts captured a moment called ā€œEarthsetā€ — watching Earth slowly disappear behind the lunar horizon.

And that idea matters far beyond space, because perspective is essential for high performance!

The key is knowing when to zoom out… and when to zoom in.

Zooming out reminds you of the why — the mission… the purpose behind the work…

But when the pressure rises — whether in sport, business, or leadership — the big picture can often feel overwhelming!

That’s when champions zoom in! Not on the whole mission; just on the next step… the next play… the next decision… the next action done well…

Even astronauts heading around the Moon aren’t thinking about the entire mission at once. They’re executing one precise step at a time.

See?… Perspective fuels performance. And I’ve learned that high performers constantly shift between two perspectives:

Zoom out to reconnect with the mission — the why.
Zoom in to focus on the ex*****on of the next step to move forward.

šŸ”‘ The key is just knowing which direction to zoom!

I’m curious…
Which one do you naturally default to under pressure?
Zooming OUT (big picture) or zooming IN (next step)?

I was reviewing photos and videos of our recent family trip to the South of France… and this is something I really wanted to share with you all… šŸ«¶šŸ»

It’s so easy to say ā€œwe’ll do it next yearā€ or ā€œwe’re too busy right nowā€. Life gets full, schedules don’t line up and somehow there’s always something that FEELS more urgent.

But the truth is, there will never be a perfect time!…

You just have to decide that it matters enough to make the time.

Because one day, these trips won’t just be trips… they’ll be the memories you’re so glad you didn’t put off! šŸ¤

Here’s the key:
You have to develop the skill of thinking ahead. Thinking of yourself in the future and what regrets you might be carrying of the things you never tried, the places you never explored, or… the people you never spent that extra time with!

Make your choices right now so that your future self will hold incredible memories. Not heavy regrets.

Where is your next trip? Is it local or by plane? šŸš— āœˆļø Is it solo or with friends or family? Let me know!

High achievers and high performers are often treated like the same thing.

But they’re not! Does that surprise you? 😮

Let me explain.

High achievers tend to measure success by output. More hours… More tasks completed… More boxes checked… More wins accumulated…

Achievement becomes the goal!

High performers, on the other hand, operate differently!

They focus less on doing more, and more on performing better! Better focus… Better energy management… Better recovery… Better decisions about where effort actually belongs…

It’s a difference (and a mindset) I became very aware of in sport.

Any day, you could walk into any gym and see people doing more… More reps… more sets… more time…

Elite athletes don’t simply push harder every day. They train with purpose… They recover with intention… They focus their effort where it will make the biggest difference.

Without that intention and that balance, performance eventually (and inevitably) breaks down.

*Ā  *Ā  *Ā  *Ā  *Ā  *Ā  *

I see the same pattern in business!

Many leaders are incredibly successful high achievers, with incredible output! But over time, constant output can come at a cost – energy, clarity, creativity, even fulfillment!

I have high achieving clients who come to me to find balance… To find a place of high performance in all areas of their lives.

See… Balance is not a myth; It’s simply misunderstood!

And the leaders who sustain high performance long-term start thinking more like athletes.

They stop asking: ā€œHow much more can we do?ā€

And start asking: ā€œHow well can we perform?ā€

The shift is from quantity to quality. From volume to performance.Ā

And that shift changes everything.

Do you tend to focus on achievement or performance? šŸ‘‡
