A Huge Milestone for Our Employment Program! ✨
Our incredible team of makers officially received their first pay from our Treats with a Purpose project. After covering the cost of supplies, each participant earned $20 from the dog and cat treats they worked so hard to create!
To many people, $20 may not seem like a lot. But to our clients, it represents so much more.
It represents:
🐾 Hard work.
🐾 Teamwork.
🐾 Responsibility.
🐾 Learning new skills.
🐾 The pride of earning a paycheck.
Our goal has never been just to make treats—it's been to create meaningful employment opportunities for individuals who may not have access to traditional jobs. Today, they got to experience what it feels like to earn something that was truly their own, and the smiles on their faces said it all.
Every bag of treats you purchase is doing more than supporting a small business. You're helping create opportunities, build confidence, develop life skills, and show our clients that their work has value.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who has supported this journey so far. Your encouragement, purchases, and shares are making a real difference.
Here's to many more paydays, many more proud moments, and proving that everyone has something valuable to contribute. ❤️
We have been soaking up every bit of summer! ☀️
Everyone has been having so much fun checking out and appreciating everything our island has to offer!

People have been reaching out asking how they can help and where they can send donations. After giving it some thought, I feel that creating a GoFundMe is the best way to make the process simple, secure, and transparent for everyone who wants to support this incredible family.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward helping them create a fresh start—clearing out what is no longer needed, restoring their home, and creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming space for a mother and her children.
As we shared yesterday, this family has been faced with overwhelming circumstances through no fault of their own. Out of respect for their privacy, we won't be sharing personal details, but we can say that your kindness will make a real and lasting difference.
If you are able to donate, no matter the amount, we are incredibly grateful. ❤️
If donating isn't possible right now, please consider sharing this fundraiser. A simple share can help us reach someone who is able to help, and that is just as meaningful.
From all of us at Compassion First, thank you for continuing to show what a caring and compassionate community we have. Together, we can help give this family the fresh start they deserve.

Our Compassion First family has always shown what it means to come together when someone is in need, and today we're asking for your help once again.
A family who has been part of our youth program for many years has experienced an unexpected hardship and is having to start over from scratch. To protect their privacy, we are keeping this request anonymous, but they need our community now more than ever.
This mom and her three children are in need of almost everything, including:
• Clothing UPDATE ON CLOTHES - Men's Large, Girls 14/16 and boys 10/12
• Dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen essentials
• A couch and kitchen table with chairs
• Bedding and towels
• Toys, books, and games
• Household essentials and other basic necessities
Clothing - (Will soon let you know sizes as they come to me)
If you have gently used items in good, clean condition that you'd be willing to donate, we would be so grateful. We are also accepting monetary donations, which will be used to purchase the items the family needs most and fill in any gaps.
Donations can be dropped off at 674 Water Street. We simply ask that you send us a private message beforehand so we can ensure someone is there to receive them. If you'd like to make a monetary donation, please message us for details.
I know the Compassion First family and our amazing community can rally around this family and remind them they are not alone. Every act of kindness—whether it's a donated item, a financial gift, or simply sharing this post—will help this mom and her three children build a fresh start.
Thank you for showing love, compassion, and hope when it matters most. Together, we can make a real difference. ❤️
For any Donations from up west we now have a drop off place! 988 Taddy Rd, Richmond. Thankyou everyone !!
Every person in our adult program has their own unique goals, dreams, and path. Our role is to provide the support, opportunities, and encouragement they need to build skills, gain confidence, and work toward the life they want.
During the summer, we continue our daily routines while making time for fun and meaningful experiences! ☀️
From cooking nutritious meals and learning everyday life skills, to community outings that build social connections and independence, every activity has a purpose. Even a round of golf helps develop coordination, communication, patience, confidence, and teamwork—all while enjoying the outdoors.
We believe learning happens everywhere. By combining life skills with recreation, our participants strengthen their independence, create lasting friendships, and discover new interests in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Every accomplishment, no matter how big or small, is a step toward greater independence and a more fulfilling life
