Memphis Ridge Ranch
Faith, family, fun and farm animals. We are a family of 6 living out in the country in southern Manitoba. We have beef and eggs available for purchase.
We raise beef cattle, Boer goats, livestock guardian dogs, cattle working dogs and performance horses (cutting/working cow/reining) with a flock of chickens that give us a steady supply of farm fresh free range eggs. We will also have goats available in the fall.

The cows are thrilled to be out on grass finally!! With a build project scheduled to start shortly in their main pasture they are starting out in my summer mare pasture until a temporary fence can be set up around the build site.

Calving season can be full of surprises when you run a very mixed herd of commercial cows. This same cross yielded a traditional black baldy last time but this year 😂 who’s your daddy little one!

We got our first Longhorn baby of the year, he’s everything I wanted except I was hoping for a heifer. Oh well, born alive healthy and strong is already lots to be very grateful for. Maybe the next one will be a heifer.

And just like that we’re done foaling for the year, welcome to the world little one! A flashy sorrel filly arrived last night out of one of our cutting mares.

Our wait is finally over, welcome to the world little one! Born last night at 11:20 pm, I was blessed to be there to watch the birth. A big beautiful filly out of my ranch mare, she went a bit over due(3 1/2 weeks) and foaled at 368 days 😬 She’s the first mare I’ve ever had reach a full year gestation.

The first baby of the year has arrived! Now not who I was expecting to be the first to make her grand entrance but momma hit it out of the park with this sweet little girl who’s more than I was expecting when I bred her AI last year. Welcome to the world, the girls have decided she’s a keeper!

Baby prep, Tika is due in about a week and Hope in four weeks. These girls are getting big, we’re really looking forward to these babies! It’s been 8 years since we’ve had a Tika baby and Hopes youngest is a coming 3 year old.
We had the first ride of the year in my outdoor last week. The snows a little crunchy with the temperature fluctuations, but spring is on its way!

Today we said goodbye to a very special member of our ranch family. Bambam protected our farm and family without fail for the last 7 and a half years. I cannot count the times we would wonder where he was after a day or two and he would appear with wounds (never life threatening) from a fight. He fought for his herd with all he had and the evidence is clear having never lost a single calf, foal or goat kid to predators. Anyone who knows our area knows how heavy the coyote population is, even the occasional wolf, so this is no small feat!! He had slowed significantly over the last few weeks. In the end, he found a cozy spot on the yard, fell asleep and didn't wake up. It is what we hoped for him in his final days. He was deeply loved and appreciated. We will miss him terribly ❤️❤️❤️

The kittens have chosen, Remi is clearly their favorite as it’s his water bucket that is their go to for a fresh drink when I water the yearlings. For being our barrel prospect he is surprisingly chill about a lot of things.
