You were lavender in the sunshine
A lupine in the wind
A shadow in my meadow
I couldn't help but drink you in
Like baby's breath upon my breast
I drowned in mountain streams
I caught your scent upon the breeze
I fell for cupid's dream
But all too soon the night came calling
Too soon I woke with haste
A simple remnant of woeful hope’s
All too bitter aftertaste

We bloom to consume
In the garden where forbidden fruit
Feeds our roots
Reaching for a sky
Where the sun is wrapped in cellophane
Voices mimicking the lullaby slogan
A battle cry for our brand

I think we really need to start thinking about how we treat each other….
Time has been short for translating inspiration to words, but I’m grateful to find myself inspired at all considering our current state of affairs…which god will you choose when the time comes that “none” is no longer a freedom we enjoy? 👀🙏

Day 3
There is nothing here for me
that the human eye can see.
I am not of this reality
I hold the moon
I hold the sea
I am all
Yet I am none
The silent winter
The raging sun
The darkened night
when day works done
The love, the pain
The tears, the numb
I am too much for you I know
I appreciate you trying though
To scrape, to carve, to make me fit
That you still try
and haven’t quit
You need to know I’m trying too
To be all that I can for you
But my heart is hungry and goes unfed
I can’t forgive the things you did
I am angry, I am ashamed
I am at fault.
I am to blame

Day 2 of poetry month has me thinking about this compulsion…I’ll never be able to find the words to adequately explain how I don’t see the tree, rather its spirit…but I know if I can toss the right word salad…maybe you’ll understand that I get it…and the world will feel a little less lonely for us both 🙏💕
I've been told countless times
I've outgrown the need for fairies
yet I refuse to accept conditions acceptable to most.
Therefore
doomed to swim in rainbow rain
I face most my storms alone
for I've not the words nor the magic
to make the blind see.
