Gentle Roots Therapy
Welcome to Gentle Roots Therapy!
Where gentle care helps little ones grow strong roots. 🌱
I’m Brieanne, a registered massage therapist with 5+ years of experience and specialized training in Infant Craniosacral Therapy.
A day in the life of a Massage & Craniosacral Therapist 🤍🌿
A little glimpse into a very normal day around here…
🏋️♀️ Starting the day at Prairie Roots Fitness in Niverville Prairie Roots Fitness
🧺 Folding approximately 700 loads of laundry (okay, maybe not quite 😂)
🚗 Heading into the city for a mobile treatment with the sweetest set of twins
🌶️ Making a very important stop at Spiceworld Canada Spice World
🚶♀️ Walking to the clinic
🛏️ Setting up for a massage treatment
📱 Creating & catching up on social media
🧼 Cleaning up and resetting the treatment room
🌙 Setting everything up for tomorrow
🚶♀️ And finally… walking home
Some days are busy, some are quiet, and some involve a lot more laundry than I’d like to admit 😂
But I genuinely love all the little pieces that make up my days as a Massage & Craniosacral Therapist. From working with clients, to caring for my space, to building Gentle Roots behind the scenes, it’s a pretty good life. 🤍
Things you’ll hear me say approximately 47 times a day as an RMT + CST provider 😂👇
💆♀️ “Pain during a massage can actually make your muscles protect instead of relax.”
More pressure ≠ better treatment. Sometimes your body needs less force & more time to let go.
🏃♀️ “Movement over stationary.”
Our bodies are designed to move! When appropriate, I’d much rather help you find comfortable movement than keep you completely still & hope something magically changes.
🤱 “Breastfeeding should not hurt.”
Tenderness can happen, especially early on, but ongoing pain is not something you simply have to “push through.” Pain is your body giving you information.
👶 “A fussy or colicky baby is almost always uncomfortable.”
Babies don’t fuss for no reason. Sometimes there’s something going on that is making them uncomfortable, & figuring out why is an important part of supporting them.
Basically, if you’ve been treated by me long enough, you’ve probably heard at least one of these. 😂
& if you haven’t yet…
Hi, I’m Brieanne. We’ll probably be talking about all of these. 👋🏼😂
POV: Someone tells me, “My healthcare professional said my baby doesn’t need to p**p every day.”
Me: OH BOYYYYY 😂💩
Let’s talk about baby p**p because this is something I hear ALL. THE. TIME.
Just like adults, babies have bowel movements as a normal & important part of digestion.
The rule of thumb for babies all the way up to adults is that we should be p**ping at least once a day.
But what care about isn’t just how often your baby is p**ping it’s the whole picture:
💩 Are their stools soft or hard?
💩 Are they comfortable or struggling?
💩 Are they frequently straining?
💩 Are they red faced or grunting?
💩 Are they gassy or bloated?
💩 Are they feeding well & acting like themselves?
So if your baby’s p**p pattern has changed or something just doesn’t seem right, don’t be afraid to ask questions.
Because sometimes “that’s normal for babies” isn’t quite the end of the conversation. 👀
& yes... baby p**p is absolutely something we can talk about. 😂🤍

✨ Ever wonder how pregnancy massage works when you can’t comfortably lie on your stomach? 🤰🤍
Meet the pregnancy bolster!
This specialized cushion is designed to comfortably support your growing belly & chest, allowing many expecting moms to safely enjoy lying face down during their massage.
Every pregnancy is different, so we’ll always make sure you’re positioned in the way that feels safest & most comfortable, whether that’s using the bolster or side-lying with supportive pillows.
Pregnancy massage isn’t just about relaxation (although that’s a wonderful bonus!). It can also help:
🤍 Ease back, hip, & pelvic discomfort
🤍 Reduce muscle tension
🤍 Improve relaxation & sleep
🤍 Give you a chance to slow down & reconnect with your body
You deserve to be comfortable, supported, & cared for throughout your pregnancy. 💛
Have questions about pregnancy massage or whether it’s right for you? Send me a message! I’d be happy to help!

What is changing is my availability! 🎉

I can’t thank every single one of you enough for your support. Whether you’ve trusted me with your own care, your baby’s care, referred a friend, shared a post, or simply cheered me on, it has all helped make this possible.
I truly can’t wait to continue growing Gentle Roots Therapy & helping even more families in our community. 💛
Book online through the link in my bio or send me a message if you have any questions!
POV: Me, on a mission to let parents know they don’t have to “just wait it out.” 🤍
Craniosacral Therapy isn’t a magic fix, but when babies have tension in their bodies, gentle treatment may help them:
✨ Feed more comfortably
✨ Sleep more soundly
✨ Feel less fussy
✨ Settle their nervous system
Every baby is different, but sometimes a little extra support can make a big difference for both baby & parents. 🌱
Have you ever wondered if bodywork could help your little one? I’d love to answer your questions. 💚

A few kinda chic ideas to think about 🤔
“My baby only looks to one side.”
This is one of the most common concerns I hear from parents.
Sometimes there may be underlying tension, discomfort, or movement restrictions that are making one direction feel easier than the other.
You might notice:
👶 A strong head-turning preference
👶 Difficulty feeding on one side
👶 A flat spot developing on the head
👶 Uneven movement during tummy time
👶 Rolling or reaching more on one side
Babies are incredibly adaptable. If turning one way feels easier, they’ll often continue to choose that pattern.
The earlier these concerns are identified, the easier it can be to support balanced movement & development.
Have you ever noticed your baby consistently looking one way? Let me know below. 💛
When you desperately need an appointment... 😩
..but you are the therapist. 😂
You know all the benefits of treatment.
You tell your clients to prioritize self-care.
You remind everyone that they can’t pour from an empty cup.
& then somehow your own appointment keeps getting pushed back another week. 🙃
Running a business, caring for others, & remembering to take care of yourself can be a challenge even when you know better.
Friendly reminder that therapists need treatment too. 💛
Now excuse me while I go practice what I preach & book myself in.
“My child will never sit still for a treatment.” 🤪
I hear this all the time from parents, & I promise, you are not the first person to say it!
The good news? Your child doesn’t have to lie perfectly still for craniosacral therapy. Every session is adapted to meet them where they’re at.
✨ We can work:
• On the treatment table
• Sitting on the floor
• While they’re playing with toys
• During movement, cuddles, or whatever helps them feel safe
The first appointment is often full of exploring, testing the room, & getting to know me. That’s completely normal! Once your child realizes this is a safe, fun space, the second visit is often much more relaxed.
I work with kids every day, & I expect wiggles, giggles, & curiosity. You don’t need a “perfectly behaved” child to benefit from treatment you just need to show up.
If you’ve been putting off booking because you’re worried your little one won’t cooperate, let this be your sign. We make it work. 💜
