PLEASE READ THIS POST!
Did you know that one of the leading causes of deck collapses are due to improper fastening of ledger board to the house? Is your ledger board nailed to your house? if so you could be at risk of a deck collapse in the future! there are several suitable methods to attaching ledger board to your house, nailing is NOT one of them! Ledger boards are to be installed using Lag bolts, or special screws designed to support the weight of your deck! Or better yet fastened directly to your floor joists using special brackets through the rim joist of your house. Nails, especially plain old steel nails will rust over time which causes them to become smaller as they corrode, which leads to them easily pulling out of your ledger, or any part of your deck for that matter. I have been working at a bunch of different properties around town lately and this is one of the main safety concerns i am seeing much to frequently. Have a look at the pictures on this post, go check your decks give me a call if you would like me to come look at your deck free of charge just to be sure! Your safety is my top priority and I would hate to see you or your family suffer the consequences of a collapsed deck!

We are now a solid 5 months into this. If ANYONE is not working/not getting a paycheck/has had their hours cut and run out of food or necessities or times are just tough... please don’t let yourself or your kids go to sleep with an empty stomach. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message. I will drop some food off and go. No one has to know and I will pretend it never happened.
