Some counter-tops and tiles are meant for each other!
Here’s another multi-tone subway.
Tile needs to be seen in-person before choosing and you can check this out at Dominion Tile.

3x12 handmade subway backsplash in Shediac! When doing white tile on white grout, some texture helps the tile stand out more!

Cutting in minus 10 degree weather plus the wind chill has me missing the summer! I miss the sun and sea-breeze here!

My favourite tile and what I call the "sparkle tile". Viewing this tile in-person, the grout lines disappear and this tile can really light up a space. You can find it at Dominion Tile. It is a joy to install and to see for yourself in person. I wish my camera could do it justice!!
DIY TILE TIP #3 (share if you know someone DIYing tile!)
How to cut tile for DIY?
Just use a table-top wet saw. A cheap one is marginally more expensive than a grinder/diamond blade but it's dustless, safe, and little-to-no experience is required.
95% of my clients are immediately wondering why they never see me use a wet saw. Dozens of reasons but it's still my recommendation for first-timers. I used one for my first time by myself and still have it running!
DIY TIP #2 - White or grey mortar?
You've read my tip #1 and you're at the home depot and now you can't decide between grey and white mortar. Does it make a difference?
YES. Always use white unless you are tiling with a dark/grey porcelain or stone tile. Do not use grey mortar for glass (transparent) and do not use grey for lighter/sh*te stone tile (porous).
Questions?
Please comment!
I know there are some considering DIY and I want to equip them the best I can should they go that route so I will be starting a series of small posts, starting with this. If any DIYers have any questions at all, feel free to comment and I will answer in the post so everyone can see.
DIY TIP #1
Pre-mixed mortar, pre-mixed grout. When can you use either?
Pre-mixed mortar (mastic): small ceramics and ceramic/porcelain mosaics. Otherwise, do not use pre-mixed mortar (bigger porcelain, glass, stone). Do NOT use on floors or showers, EVER.
Pre-mixed grout: just never use. The convenience of it being mixed pales in comparison to the frustration you will experience using it and there is a very high risk of poor results for the inexperienced.

Backsplash meets accent wall. I find the blend of colours at this cottage quite relaxing. Also, I still do not know how to take pictures 😅. I've got a new phone and no excuse now!
Just wanted to thank everyone who has taken the time to give me reviews and recommendations. It means a lot to me to receive feedback. It also helps get this page established. I do everything in my power to deliver a "5-star" experience.

I am always looking at the tile everywhere I go (I’ll even pause the TV). 6x6 plain white tile is something I never thought I’d get a chance to install. Clean and simple. What I will always remember however is what wonderful company this client was while I installed. Meeting people from all walks of life keeps me motivated and engaged.
